Depends upon what kind of shots you want to take. I have never used a gimbal for vlogs. It's too heavy to travel with and shoot and manage. Camera is always a good investment. Atleast for low light and you'll have a secondary backup for Timelapses or even primary shots

Better is very subjective. While camera can give better video quality but the whole idea of this test was to see if a phone is sufficient to vlog. And in run and gun situaions it out performs the camera. Coz you won't have time to manually adjust settings in some situations. The moment will be gone. Phone is fast, light and handy.
