both are best in the segment, if you are not a heavy gamer you can consider S22ultra(8 gen 1), if you need a compact size phone and better gaming perform, go for 23 but battery decreases little bit, s22 ultra perform in gaming very well as 90% of 8gen 2 in s23, i have used it for 6 months, same performance in bgmi and other games aslo like iphone 13pro, but sightly heats while playing bgmi on HD extreme settings
