Samsung phones are very important outside the US and have advantage in that sense. Pixel phones are not supported in most countries and software features like Google VPN are blocked. iPhones are more expensive outside the US and the price gap is even bigger. Basic iPhone costs almost a thousand dollars. But Samsung phones cost similarly around the world. Hence midrange Samsung phones are very important outside the US because they are basically the only option to get an affordable phone with premium feel and safety considerations in terms of software.

After just one year, my old Redmi Note 9s started lagging and crashing. Samsung is the only viable option if you want an Android device in any country that Pixel phones aren't supported in.

Let's assume for a moment that the everyday user plays games every now and then, mostly surfs and uses a few streaming services, along with YT, Tiktok, Insta, etc. He also wants to take a few snapshots and make a few holiday videos. And this everyday user wants to see everything on a beautiful, colorful large display, then closes his apps again and doesn't want to have to spend extra money unnecessarily. In Norway the A55 is like 5000 NOK for 256 Storage and 4500 for 128, while the 128 storage iPhone 15 costs around twice the amount, at around 8000-9000 depending on where you buy it from. Even if the A55 is just a tad bit slower, it costs around half the amount of the iPhone. So I would take the A55 any day over the iPhone just because how much I save

now lets make the test after a year of daily usage :) i've been using android (mostly samsung) for 10 years and i'm currently using an s21 fe which is basically a "A" phone dressed up as an "S" so people can fall for getting a "flagship". after one year to this date the phone can't hold more than 2 apps in the background and everything is lagging, literally any interaction is delayed by 1 second and all animations are on 10 fps. i've tried resetting the phone, debloating it but nothing works. my friend is using an iphone 11 since the release of an iphone 12 and it works better after 4 years of NO MAINTENANCE at all. the only that needs a change is the battery.

My son had the A54, I was impressed with it at first then after about half a year he started coming to me about his phone being really slow. I made the mistake buying a S20. For my wife and daughter I got the A55. The A55 is superior is every way, camera's, speed, battery life, all way better. Except for the rather large format as I like to have a smaller phone. Apple OS and pricing are not an option :)

He says hes not being biased, but clearly numerous times you hear him just push the I phone. This guy really shouldn't be reviewing things. I guarantee he's got an iPhone. In my opinion the reloading of apps saying it's choppy, I can say honestly I couldn't see it and if I could it really wouldn't bother. How messed up in the head have you got to be if that bothers you. I am myself biased as I really couldn't go with iPhone. It's just an over priced phone just for the kids as a status object. Bring back the 80s where mobile phones did not exist.

“You can see that was the iPhone”, ignores the fact that the iPhone is only showing placeholders and hasn't actually loaded any info, yet the Samsung is already displaying all the information as soon as it is able to. Also, when it comes to this things where you are arguing over milliseconds, it is just annoying. It's all about performance for money. There it is a clear winner when a phone can deliver similar performance for less than half the price.
