I usually buy rhinoshield but I hate how they have a cut out for camera control so I went for one of the OtterBox cases that Apple sells. Also, I have the regular iPhone 16 and did not have the option to switch to swipe under the camera control settings. Also, audio mix sounds almost exactly like the mic you used for this video. Really good!

@@SalinaStarr as someone with cases with and without the cutout, the cutout is the way to go. And I said the opposite for the action button: I prefer the button on the action button. I just find the cover to interfere more with the delicate presses than the cutout does. Personal preference though! And yes, audio mix is so awesome!

@@BrandonButchI meant I bought an otterbox from apple because it has the sapphire crystal cover that works seamlessly with camera control, eliminating the need for the cut-out completely.

I use Vionentus screen protectors. The touch sensitivity is great.. I could cry when I touch an iPhone screen that feels totally rough.. 😭

It's not that I want to be picky, but this new iPhone has me disappointed, so much so that after thinking about it so much I'm going to change it. My 15pro is like new, I just have to change the case, which is worn out.

I'm a real dummy. I can't even turn the new 16 on or off. Screen is locked on some camera showing a square and a sun symbol. From there I can't get it to do anything.

I think that the Studio option for audio mix just makes it sound like the microphone is closer to your mouth and less tinny. It definitely sounds better than default audio that's for sure.

For faster wired charging, the current understanding is that you need a charger that supports 15V @ 3A. It doesn't matter if it supports higher voltages or total wattage, it has to support 15V specifically.

When setting up your iPhone 16, use the "transfer from iphone" option. Then you can choose what apps you want to transfer.

just a heads up guys if you choose to use pro raw & apple prores it will eat your memory up because of huge file sizes, those options should be used with a memory bank attached to the phone so goes straight in the memory bank!

Nice! Finally getting to understand some of the camera format options and just found out too that photographic styles don't work with pro raw or JPEG XL, only with HEIF files. Is that accurate or am I missing something? Was hoping Pro Raw images would also allow adjusting for undertones, just for quick edits within the Photos app.

@@CarlosBarronJr yeah mine same also if I don’t use Heif files my photographic styles won’t show either. I can use al the JPEG ones though with it on my 16 pro max. I have jpeg lossless, jpeg xl lossless and jpeg xl lossy and can use photographic styles with all aslong as I use heif files.

It would be nice in a future iOS update to allow you to choose if you would like the Camera Control to keep recording a video when you take your finger off. Then when you want to stop recording, you can simply push the button once to cancel and take you back to Viewfinder mode. I would like that very much, anyone else?

difference between HEIF max and JPEG max is that HEIF is a different file compression and keep less data than JPEG, JPEG MAX is better, but takes up more space.

I like how the studio setting reduced reverb but I don’t like how it removed quite a bit of bass from your voice. As an audio engineer I would be very curious as to the ‘chain’ of events (both hardware and software) that Apple is using to deliver these options and what they are ACTUALLY doing. Maybe a deep dive at some point?

the only thing i don't like about the photo app is when you take a photo 16:9 and you tap it it minimizes and also if you press settings it gets smaller again if you want to edit it. i would like it to stay the same size and the setting menu can just pop up without minimizing the picture size. Same thing happens with videos. Other than that i don't have a problem with it.
