i can see how from the 15 to the 16 it may seem a bit pointless, but I have an iphone 8+ so this will be a major upgrade for me! I'll get face id, 12 mp camera to 48 mp, 4.7 screen to 6.9, almost triple the battery life and so much more! im so excited

Coming from a base iPhone 13 and going to a iPhone 16 Pro Max…yeah this is a genuine upgrade from that perspective. Battery life has been improved greatly, I now understand the hype behind Pro Motion displays, the photo button can sometimes be useful, and the greater brightness compared to a base model phone comes in handy. But yeah, I can imagine if one is coming from a 15 Pro, it’s not as much of a jump.

I have the base iPhone 14. It is working fine except the battery health is at 82%, but I want the AI stuff, it seems so cool. Also, the action button, camera control and dynamic island seem cool. Should I upgrade, or wait another year?

I came from the 13 Pro Max, and to be honest, it felt a bit pointless to upgrade. It didn’t feel truly refreshing anymore. Even the camera quality appeared slightly inferior compared to my 13 Pro Max, especially when examining details like the letterforms from a distance.

I bought a 16pro and i think to return it tbh... (i came from an iphone 11) Photos or videos are ... grainy ??? By the way, I took some videos at a concert, and when I zoom in, there's a pixelated effect that's horrible.

SOC is tougher but regarding cameras you are correct and there is a bit of battery life and gaming but this is really not enough to upgrade.

I upgraded from a pixel 8 pro 2 months ago and I absolutely love it. The processor is on another level from the pixel on my 16 pro max. Camera quality is amazing as well as video quality. Battery life is way better. The 16 pro max’s apple intelligence isn’t as good as the pixels AI features but apart from that it’s been an amazing phone that works flawlessly.

Wait for s25 before making a decision.

As a photographer my main priority was the camera and the iPhones camera produces a lot more natural looking images and the raw photos are higher quality than Samsung.

I have had a 12pro until a few weeks ago, coz of battery issues I upgraded to 15pro I can say apart from the that fact that the 12pro doesn't support prores and log, the phone feels the same. Upgrading every year on apple devices is a scam.
