I’ve had the 12 Pro Max since it came out. Phone is sluggish, overheats easy, even with a battery replacement. Trade in offer was $1000 for my phone for the 16 Pro Max. Had to upgrade, but I’ll definitely stay keeping my phone for 3-4 years from now on honestly. Upgrading every year is so stupid.

My iPhone 13 Pro Max also overheats sometimes. Right now it’s not overheating. I think it’s the iOS 18.0 update’s fault lol My phone is only a year younger than your 12 pro max and I’m surprised yours needed a battery change

Great review as always, Aaron. I upgraded from a 14 pro Max to the 16 pro Max and I’m very happy with it. I do agree with you regarding the camera control. I don’t think I’ll really be using it much outside of opening the camera and maybe zooming in I upgraded mainly because of the Battery Life and also because of Apple intelligence but I also feel I’ve gained a lot more with my upgrade. I now have USB type C for much faster charging as well as the 4K at 120 FPS again great review and the Best by far.

Great video as always. You mention when using the Camera Control button to take a picture you get a shake that ends you up with a blurred photo. I expect you will know this already, but you can alter the pressure needed to perform that action. If you go into Settings/Accessibility/Camera Control, you can choose between lighter, default, firmer. Perhaps alter it to lighter and see if it helps. I've got to admit that although I find the Camera Control button is handy for instantly launching the camera, and a quick taking of a picture, I do find that some of the other controls can be done smoother and easier with using the on-screen controls.

I've had my iPhone 12 Pro since launch day 2020. My 12 Pro is the best iPhone I've ever had and it is still running strong with original battery life at 88%. I'm not real impressed with the latest iPhones over the past few years. I'll be keeping my 12 Pro for at least another year until something better comes along.

It’s definitely very gimmicky, and surprisingly half baked. Like Aaron said, they usually nail tactile button stuff, but when i tried it, it was confusing and fell flat. Quite unintuitive.

I bit the bullet on this one. I went from an 13 Pro Max, which I loved to the 16 Pro Max in Desert. I gained several updates on this upgrade. I didn't find a reason tho upgrade the past few years. It seems to be a nice upgrade for me, and I do like the color. I do miss my Blue color. I am running the .1 Beta updates and also have got the Apple AI test features as well with the new Siri animation and whatever else they included with that. One thing I noticed with the Beta version is my magsafe wallet no longer has the automation and does not notify me when you remove it. It works fine on my wife's Regular 16 phone so it must be the Beta. I don't think I have missed any of your videos in a few years. Love the items you cover.

I went from the 13 Pro Max to the 16 Pro Max in Natural Titanium. I am on IOS 18.1 Beta Developer and have not had much use for the Apple AI just yet. Maybe will grow on me later but seems a bit gimmicky at this point. It was a big upgrade from the 13 Pro Max and I will have it for 2-3 years before I upgrade again.

16 pro max up from an 11 pro. black in a blue silicone case. Going against my normal buying practice I bought it at release rather than waiting for tech reviews. I am still fussing getting it set up with my apps, especially Outlook. Seems to be a password problem I need to solve. Also having Siri issues. I just received a black iPhone 16 Pro with the 512GB storage. I upgraded from an iPhone 14 Pro 512GB. Having developer status, I upgraded to the iPhone 16 Pro for the AI! I love the writing tools and have the ability to proofread, rewrite, then change the text to make it friendly, professional, and/ or concise ... That is awesome and will only get better! The slightly, and I mean slightly better camera with the new styles and adjustments of the styles has really enhanced pictures all on the iPhone, seems to make it a better picture(s)! The 120fps processor, you can just keep going with the subtle differences, but IMO a better device!

IF you have tasks that cause the display to dim and need the improved thermals, I think it's worth it. I will say though I do prefer the smaller size of the 15 Pro Max. I felt like the 6.7" was already pushing the limit.

Good day Aaron. I picked up the 16 PM 512 GB Variant in Desert Titanium and also am using a 15 PM. I really value you videos! My Battery life is better than the previous and the screen size is nice with less bezels. The 18.0 seems to be good so far. Another thing I notices is that the phone is cooler than the 15 PM. I am hoping that 18.0.1 and then 18.1 fixes the bugs others are experiencing. so far i am satisfied with my 16 PM. Glad you were not hit hard by Helene!

I really liked my 13PM, a peak performer. My wife had a 12PM and was ready for an upgrade. Verizon’s $1000 trade-in cinched the deal for both of us. In the week prior, I was going back and forth on a decision to trade in with Apple on pre-order. That would have been $700 off for two. Glad I waited.😅

I upgraded from the 15 pro max to 16 pro max . I wasn’t going to. I knew it wasn’t a big change from the 15 Pro Max. However my battery sucked and I couldn’t take it anymore straight out of the box my battery was horrible . So just for the battery I upgraded and I love it . Other than the battery it’s not that different doesn’t even feel bigger in my hand . I love it and hope that it can last for years .

Love the 16 Pro Max. Looking forward to Visual Intelligence and 18.1b is pretty good. I like Camera Control a lot for launching, taking photos, videos, zooming and for doing selfies with the back camera. I also wish 18.1 were ready for September release, but it’s being released in 2 weeks.

Very interesting to see you had way more scratches on your 15 series than on your 14 series. For me its the other way around. When i sold my 15 Pro Max the guy who bought it was like "did that phone even get used?" and i didnt use a case for a year straight. I purchased a 16 Pro Max 256 Black from a 15 Pro Max 256 Blue. Overall much better battery life and overall a much better experience with IOS 18. The only issue I have is that car play constantly resets while playing Apple Music. I never had that issue with my 15 Pro Max on IOS 18. Hopefully the upcoming IOS will resolve this issue.

My 16 pro is titanium color! Great phone so far! But I have a complaint about the screen icons turning into nighttime or daytime mode! The automatic mode in display & brightness is not changing them automatically when sunset occurs so I have to turn off and then on again manually to have the icons turning into day or night mode! I hope Apple will correct this bug soon! Thank you for the space Aaron!

Great video, Aaron. Quality is amazing. However, I think normal mode for microphone is better. The studio audio sounds distorted / tinny. And there’s a very subtle hissing sound in the background. Just a small thing I noticed.

will be holding on to my 15 pro for another year. im already eligible to get apple intelligence, and the gimmicky camera control button, slightly thinner bezels, slightly faster chip and bigger screen etc doesnt entice me to upgrade, only thing maybe the upgraded battery life would tempt me but even then i think i’ll hold off just fine. i never liked the pro max form factor personally so i sticked to the smaller regular pro, and i hope next year’s 17 pro will be an exciting enough upgrade from my 15 pro. great video as always Aaron!
