I've been very impressed with the magic 6 pro camera. It can over saturate the blues as shown in your video but generally photos look great. I tend to use natural profile which can help a little with those blues!

I bought the Honor a week ago less than half of the Price of the iPhone there is nothing to argue about Honor easily beats the iphone.

I bought HM6 for 800 euros, while Iphone 16 PM costs easily twice that (or even more). That gives you some perspective. I dont think HM6 is better than iPhone, but they are trading blows, which should not be happening at this price difference. I loooove my HM6, however I would not mind having the new 16 PM (but I hate its eco system and insane price ). I use honor for a month now, and at the beginning it had some quarks, but as the time goes by it seems that it is getting better and better (maybe it is me getting used to it, or the updates that are coming). I know what I can get out of this camera, when to use what mode, I had some keyboard issue (it keeps closing when you hit the bottom of the phone which was annoying AF but fixed in the keyboard settings). I dont know if you get that small annoying things on the other flagships nowadays, but I know it was the case with all my previous phones - you go through period of adjustments and transition, but it gets better overall. You dont really zoom in and out like a mad man when you are making a video, or try to run at night while taking a video expecting it to be smooth and stable. P.S. Great review!

in what way is the iPhone 16 Pro Max better than Magic6 Pro? I couldn't find any. iPhone 16 Pro Max has similar performance, so there's no edge. the Magic6 Pro however has a better camera, better battery, overall smoother and more optimized and stable OS, Android nowadays is better than iOS 18. cool and useful "AI" like magic portal. Magic6 Pro's build quality is also better, since the glass is the toughest glass on any phone. it also cools better, which means it has better sustainable performance. this is important for things like gaming. the Magic6 Pro also has tons of more software features, that iPhone will probably get in about 5 years maybe. the display and the speakers are better. the only thing Apple is clearly winning here are small things like lens switching. but honestly, no major wins for the iPhone.

Great video. Honors decision to have vivid as the default mode is a mistake. Their "original" colours look nicer though they are already still a bit too vibrant. The iPhone I am disappointed by the ultrawide. It sometimes looks like sucking the colours out. That perceiption as "being more natural" not always holds true. If there is a sunny day I want the colours to look like it and not like a winter day with dull colours. Especially in autumn where you have more vibrant colours thanks to leafes turning yellow and brown. Regarding front camera and colours. I have the option to choose colour profiles. Not the 3 Honor offers on the back but a few others like Genki, Elegant or B&W. As for the front video at night. The iPhone keeps the shutter speed higher that is why it is darker but has also less noise. The Honor lowers the shutterspeed which introduces smearing and light dancing in the background while at the same time in order to expose brighter pushes the ISO higher. That in combination leads to a weaker front video. In the night I would always recommend using the largest sensor available for vlogs even if you don't see yourself which means usually use the main camera on the back. Video night mode on the Honor is recording in 4k 24fps btw. And has the same issue. The shutter speed is way to low. So best would be using the pro video mode having shutterspeed as high as possible without being too dark or noisy for the EIS to work nicely. The night video mode is better suited for static like shots.

Thanks for the comment. I was also really disappointed from the UW lens of the iPhone since this is the only difference the camera has hardware-wise from the 15 Pro Max. And yeah, I made the mistake with writing 4k30fps on the night mode, sorry! Honor really should consider not using vibrant as the default one, I second that. But many people just like when the colors pop more I guess...

Is it just me, or does the x2.5 zoom of the Honor look like an iPhone’s x3 zoom? I mean, for the same zoom number, Honor photos seem to be closer

Which settings do you have on Honor? Vibrant mode, HDR and Ai on? I switched off the AI, so the photos look less saturated. But I still use vibrant mode, because natural mode give too dark results, especially in shadow zones!

It's like you'd need both phones to make OK pictures.... iPhone 16 hasn't advanced at all in some areas since iPhone 11 pro max, and the Honor Magic 6 pro is very inconsistent... but it's great for the price... you're getting 80% - 120% of what the iPhone 16 Pro Max can do, but for 50% of money.

I'm thinking about new iPhone 16 camera beat all phone but unfortunately they use the same not changing the camera or sensor. Disappointed still 6gb ram for iPhone and no more than 25x zoom. 😂 For me still honor magic 6 pro better except front camera the iPhone better in low light nothing else. Good video!. I hope next iphone something special not the same like from iPhone 6 to 16.. So funny.😅

Ja, es gibt unterschiedliche Profile. Ich belasse es für die Tests immer beim Standardprofil, was in diesem Fall hier 'vibrant' ist.

Honor has 3 preset for default picture mode, You should have used the natural profile instead.

I am aware and showcased them in my comparison in the spring. But I prefer sticking to the default settings as this is what most people will do. Honor should definitely change the default setting.

@@alischan I get what your saying, I agree they need to change it to natural. Once you set it though it does default to that one. I have seen other videos with Honor in Natural and feel it is better in most cases than the iPhone. Great review anyways need more pure side by side comparisons like this. Great also your showing other phones than just Samsung and Apple. To me them 2 brands are not worth it. This review is showing a phone now that in the UK is £700 which is half the price of the iPhone pretty much it shouldn't be able to compete.

People be like honor is great, overlooking all the terrible jitters and highlight clippings it produces in videos, all the blue hues and oversaturation in photos. guess you only see what you want to see. but it's crazy to be this blind.

the Honor was set to vibrant, of course it'll also look vibrant. set it to natural, and the sky looks much more like real life.

@@izpcshop7326 blue hues, jitters, highlight clippings are not gonna be fixed even if you use another color tone mode. they're the problems of themselves and they exist. stop defending mediocrity. it makes your standards lower over time.

What the people proud of.?! Video transaction is bad on daylight for honor and too saturated makes it ugly.. Even at night is more worst on 13:00 shaky un focused looks like oils painting on ground and all..! What a bad September update for honor? ! I am never ever seen this awful blue sky like this even on cartoon movies looks more natural and this line flare on daylight and even night is too bad on image and video...I am samsung user want to get another phone and thinking about these two devices but Iphone balance on all i mentioned before..
