Hyped up titanium just to go cheap 2 years later. Lmfao. No titanium no buy. Making it lighter and thin isnt always good. iPhones have terrible batteries except the max. Not a fan of a thin phone. Thin feels cheap

@ the only thing that ever held me back from the regular models is 60hz. Most people don’t even care for pro features and special camera features that photographers and film makers use . The only reason I got a pro was the 120hz screen . I actually prefer how light the regular models are .

I would love apple to stop with the megapixels and start working more on the sensor. Tech inflencers dont seem to understand cameras. A full frame 12 MP camera is better than the iPhone 16 pro Max 48 MP camera. They should stop chasing the megapixels and make sensor size bigger. What use is 48 megapixels if you cant actually print large photos as its full of noise from not having enough light

And that's a good thing for the consumer , I have my daily 14 pro max next to me and my old 12 pro max next to me , if I need to use a phone , I'm happy to pick up whichever happens to be next to me , they both still work fine , and I think it is that consistent performance that brings customers back for a repeat purchase , even if like you and I we keep our phones until they have some age to them. You see this with cars too , Toyota for example , the company builds them to last well , hence they get a lot of repeat customers , unlike some other brands we won't mention.

​@@mikldude9376 "....consistent performance" is the key. Basically, even if Apple sells fewer units now, they still earn their customer's loyalty for decades and keeping winning the long game. I got my first Mac as a kid in the late 90s....and coming from Windows 3.1, using the Mac made my hair stand on end. While now my work has forced me to use and stay literate on Windows machines, I have very rarely spent any of my own money on Computers (Phones, tablets etc) from any company other than Apple. I am no Sheeple or Fan boi.....My long acquaintance and experience with their products is my measure.

depends on your needs. The SE would be a pretty solid upgrade with a newer faster chip, being the A18. OLED will be standard on the SE too, if you want that extra lens and you use it, the 16 or base 17 would be good to get. The 17 is still very far away but of you’re willing to wait for Sept, get the 17.

I think any iPhones with more than one camera will be placed vertically to shoot in landscape rather than horizontally. Reason being they want to ensure we’re making use of the new button on the iPhone 16s and they need the cameras to record in stereoscopic for the Apple Vision Pro.

SE looks like it should be maybe the best phone for value. The air would be great for the minimalist but $999 for only one rear camera kinda sucks. The SE will be the choice for minimalists I think being smaller than the rest and simple yet capable. If I hadn't got the 16 pro I'd really consider the SE myself

I like the direction Apple is going with the iPhones. With the SE , call me old fashioned, i actually liked the home button and actually prefer having a bit of bezel( I'm weird i know), but the new design looks clean and its hardware is certainly more with the times , so thats a good thing , even the single camera lens I'm fine with , you only really need one good lens to take some good happy snaps. On the rest of the line up , it looks pretty good , however I'm thinking if apple really wanted to upgrade the pro models , a bit more screen touch sensitivity would be good , and a 144 HZ refresh rate to really bring the snappiness to the pro models . There's no doubt the recent model iphones even going some years back still have a fairly smooth user interface , However , if you use some of the recent android phones , and even the pixel 8 pro which i have , general navigating around the phones UI just feels so much snappier , and the latest samsung phone galaxy phone looks and feels blistering fast , and it actually is ! Don't get me wrong , current iphones and even older ones perform well , even my 12 , and 14 PM which is my daily , the animations are smooth ish , but i do miss the snappy feeling of android phones . Going back even further to my dear old galaxy note 9 , which is coming up on a 7 year vintage , but due to being able to do the android thing , and go into the developer options , you can turn off all transitions and animations , and navigating around the UI once your data is loaded , it still feels like a fairly fast phone some of the time . We are stuck with the same old UI speed restrictions on the iphones😢. On the going from Titanium , forgoing stainless and going down to Aluminium/alulminum , i suspect its more of a cost cutting measure more than anything else , apple likes to keep it's margins 😊 , but also stainless and titanium are more expensive metals , there's no doubt about that , but also both are significantly harder to work with in regards to tooling etc in the production process , Aluminum is very soft , easy to work with and relatively cheap. And given that probably 80% of of people use a case anyway , any slight loss in robustness probably won't be felt for the most part anyway. More ram in the pro models will be nice , but sgain , I'd love to see Apple just crank up the snappiness on the general feel of the phones.

Aluminum doesn’t act as much of a heat sink as titanium and it also cools faster than titanium which can directly affect battery life and performance

I was really excited for the SE, but my current budget Samsung from 5 years ago has ago has a 6.8inch screen what is just a tad too big, but the 6.1 was going to start being too “small” personally. If the iPhone 17 has the 6.3inch with the 120hz that would make it really tempting to just save up for an extra 6ish months 🤔 Also, it’ll most likely come default with the 256gb what I was probably going to upgrade to on the iPhone SE anyway. So, the price won’t be that much worse (after upgrading the storage) to just wait a little longer… kinda need a phone now, but would rather try and make my current one last a little longer and get a better long term phone (if the rumours are true).
