Of course it does. The iPhone 3GS by all reason really shouldn't be running iOS 6. It's too old for it. The iPhone 3G is stuck at 4.2.1 which is much less demanding on the hardware.

if im understanding u right u mean when you call sumone their photo is in the backround then it's simple go to the photo app and select the photo u want then click on the button in the left hand corner and then on assign to contact select the contact and ta da ur done hope this helped :)

Anybody know where I can find that one phone commercial where (if I remember correctly) three black people are talking on the one to each other. 2 are downloading and watching a (basketball?) game while talking on the phone, but the 3rd person has one of those "normal" phones where you can't talk AND download at the same time so he's missing out on the game. I thought maybe it was an iPhone commercial but I can't find it.

Even now, still an awesome life changing device to have, owned 4 models up to now along with another life changing computer: iPad Pro 10.5: iPhone 4, iPhone 5S, iPhone 6S, and now my iPhone XS :)
