iphone 6 6S water damage repair

If you have dropped your phone in the toilet, sink, washing machine, in a pool or at the beach or even have spilled your favorite drink on it - the iphone 6 and plus series generally doesn't take to water like a duck.
Important - whether you will attempt this yourself or take it to a repairer, you MUST ensure that you do not try to turn it on or plug it in. Doing sure can do further damage.
Secondly - the ideal situation is to disconnect the battery asap. Even when the battery is connected there is a small amount of charge going through the phone which can cause a further short of a component.
Like and save this video so you have it for future reference. Be patient and don't forget to use the screw chart I have attached.

use this method, rice isn't a good solution, it is only a temporary fix. The reason for your issues I'm assuming is because of the corrosion caused by the water.

How long after the phone got wet can/should we do this? I pulled it apart and put it back together successfully (and it was kind of fun!), but once I tried to charge it it fried. I waited longer than a hour for it to dry, but not much longer. I used 70% isopropyl. The phone had fallen in clean filtered water and rescued immediately. Prior to the alcohol it was in rice overnight and out of the rice for a few hours while I was working on it. I think maybe I should have waited longer for it to dry from the water before I did the alcohol treatment...but I thought that if the motherboard was still wet the alcohol would push the water away so the rule of waiting one hour for it to dry was still the same. Thank you for the video! I loved giving it a try and needed a new phone anyway =). *Edit* Last thought, another thing that maybe happened was that the part of the phone where the charging port is could have been still wet, so even if the motherboard dried correctly after the alcohol treatment, this might have been what caused the short.

oh! nvm it was a nut, i just unscrewed it, its like a nut screwed into the base, then goes through the board and acts like a hole aswell for the screw, by screwing both nuts to the board and the frame

Hi, I have done all this and managed to get phone working again, the only problem now is that it wont charge, the battery charges on other phones so that is fine, I have changed the charging port as well... infohut i used a Cotten with 70%alcohol (rubbing alcohol) and rubbed it on the part that was hot. Once it Dried I powered it on and dosent seem to heat up anymore. Didn’t dunk it in only touch little parts . But thanks very much for the fast reply hopefully it dosent mess up again
