The liquid is called Flux and cooper braid called a copper wick i recommend you to buy a Goot wick this company makes good wick

What temperature do you use to desolder the chip and solder?

Hi, every soldering station gives different temperatures so you need to figure it out by your self. I would recommend start low and go up. It should take you around 2 minutes to desolder the chip without overheating the chips around

will a 6s that drains fast but charges normal at ~.70 Amps and even from dead battery . Be a bad u2 chip? i tried multiple batteries and charger ports and restores but drains within 2 hours

Yes it's the U2 chip the normal charging current when the phone is off is ~.50 so it's a U2 chip problem and it needs to be replaced

That is without doubt the worst U2 replacement I have ever seen done....You can clean of the pads real nice without using wick by using Rose metal with a quarter of the flux used in this demo....Very poor effort.
