I have the 6S Plus in space grey, I like the black bezels vs white. I love this phone and I used to be an android fan boy! I love the speed, camera and battery life of this device. I flat out works well every time. No complaints. I think wireless charging is overrated so I don't miss not having that feature. I still like Android, but for now, I am happy with my 6S plus. Thanks Lisa for doing great informative reviews!

+47crazed Exactly... most people that give both platforms a go usually come to the same conclusion. If you asked developers which platform they prefer or which is the faster and they were being honest they would also favour iOS. The problem is many developers are scared to admit it...

+47crazed the robust iOS platform is the main reason I'm switching from galaxy S5 to new iphone 6s. apple's iOS is just so seamless compared to android's hacked together mess.
@dan428
@dan428 9 жыл бұрын
+Pacomac yeah developers almost always prefer iOS except for some functions which are limited to developers on iOS without jailbreak. but overall it's much better to develop for which is why the apps are so much better vs. android apps

Lisa, good choice of smackdowns as always. Just a little suggestion on the videos however... It has been getting a little too much talking rather than actual demos. For example a fun test would be side by side quick show of the speed comparison of the finger print sensor or a few side-by-side pics for camera comparison. Just a few suggestions, thanks for the work!

I have note 5 brought last week and I have iphone 6 for more than a year. I am heavy user and note 5 already started showing lags especially after playing heavy games or using heavy games. Where as iPhone is 128 GB version were I have 157 apps installed almost used 80% of storage and still running smooth as it was when I brought it last year.

I'm m pretty satisfied with my 6 plus that I just got in February (128gb gold), but I wouldn't mind having the 6s Plus if hadn't upgraded (from my iPhone 5 64gb) , most comparisons between Sammy and Apple are for mid ground phone users who've had both systems, but most users never even consider switching from they're preferred operating system/brand (just as you said in this video Lisa) , I have no problem with all of my apple products in my household....Lisa is still the best detailed tech reviewer in my opinion (btw Lisa have you met Saabkyle04? You two are the best indept reviewers of anything on KZbin in my opinion also!)

Android has supported it since 2.0 (2009) and Huawei already uses it. How is Android copying a feature they already have? It's a gimmick that long touch replaces easily with the added benefit of you not having to worry about tapping too hard to do what you really want.

I do not understand the hate Android users have agains iPhone users. I use both Android (LG G3) and iOS (iPad). Let's just have a healthy competition. It's going to be great for the industry and the end users.

@jasonong8649

Oh cool! we use the same devices! Well, I believe it's because of the iOS ecosystem. It's very direct to the point, and people using it usually want devices to work on the spot without needing to tinker for optimal performance. They do not need to know much technically about their phones because it works like they want it to. My experience with Android such as the G3 is that I had to change some settings and even root it to avoid performance issues and battery drains. Which is weird since Android flagships have much more powerful specs and larger batteries than iPhone. However, I do like using Android due to customizability, but I may change between the 2 OS alternately.

+Su Zaire Android doesn't own phones since it's just an operating, but yeah, I see what you mean, that's not really a nexus problem. that tends to be more of a problem with skinned versions of android. like samsung or htc for example. it has less to do with Android and more to do with how the oems messed with the software.

+Youssef Amoun it is a myth...like these bs reviews claiming the Note has to reload temple run 2 when you click back on the icon. that's bull shit. that doesn't do that when i use the recent apps key toggle... even when u click back on temple run 2 it opens back up immediately to where I left off. if I completely close an app, of course it has to reload. these claims are bullshit. Make it happen pls Lisa!

I think you're missing the VR capabilities of the Note 5. They released an inexpensive VR system that only costs about $100, which is something the iPhone will never be able to do if they stick with 1080p. I think it can be said that Samsung is taking more steps toward streamlined features while Apple is trying out more gimmicks this time around. 3D Touch and Live Photo can be interesting, but they are overall not particularly useful.

Lisa, great review/comparison as always! I currently have a Note 4 on Verizon and also prefer the S-Pen. However, the 6s+ really has my attention and I am a diehard Android guy when it comes to my phones (I have an iPad Air 2 & Macbook Pro too)...I've always liked the power than Android had over iOS when it came to features as well as the ability to root to gain more power. However, Samsung & Verizon have pretty muted locked down the Note 4 (and I assume other Samsung phones) from rooting. Having root was huge for me using Tasker for so many extra tasks & features. I have been lost being on an unrooted phone. If you had the Note 4 and were thinking about an upgrade what would you choose? Thanks for all the great reviews and information!!!

How? I opened up 14 apps including Netflix, KZbin, web browser, play store, camera, and as few big games, including Temple Run 2. when you play temple run to a certain point, then toggle between apps, when you go back to temple run, it'll take you right back to where you left off.

My opinion. The note 5 is better is the better phablet. Takes better pictures, nicer screen, fast charging & wireless charging, better note , 32gb start, 4gb, and less bezels. But for the mobile OS that would be the person's preference. And I prefer an Android OS. For the freedom and flexibility. And Material Design are damyum beautiful.

im going to have to disagree with the once in a while you have to try again statement regarding the Samsung finger print scanner. I have an s6 and it's once in a while that it will actually recognize my finger print! Most of the time I keep trying over and over until it takes me to the password screen... This is mainly due to the geometry of the reader. I have tried to use the finger print scanner several times and every time I give up. If it takes me to a password screen anyway, then what's the point in having a finger print scanner.

I have been a Galaxy note owner since the first model BUT, I decided after my Note 3 to go for a Note 4 Edge. Wow, what a disaster of a phone. Locks up, hangs up, now the fingerprint reader has died. I am just about to go back to the iphone for the first time since the original. Iphone 6S for me (and I will still primarily be running Google Now and GMAIL as a base line).

Definitely have to disagree with the reviewer about the bezels. The iPhone 6S bezels are even larger than they appear, because the metal rims bulge out past the plastic around the screen. In the hand, the iPhone 6S is unpleasant to hold, requiring much more stretching of your thumb to reach things on the screen than you want in a phone that size. I agree about the annoyance of capacitive buttons, but when it comes to bezels I'd take the far more ergonomic Note 5 over the iPhone in a heartbeat, at least when it comes to bezels and feel of the phone in hand.

The Note 5 is the reason why I bash Apple. Samsung is being pressured more and more each year to make an iPhone because of sheep that keep on buying iPhone cuz it's an iPhone. Now Apple has almost 100% of the market's profits, we will see less and less phones for the power users when everyone is starting to cater to the casuals and those that want a fashion accessory. Now I'm awaiting the LG G5, hopefully LG steps up and improve their UI as well as keeping the user replaceable battery.

If they like the device that works best for them because of actual reasons then I have no problem with that. But when it's OMG new iPhone! iPhone is best because it's an iPhone. Basically circular reasoning than yeah I have a problem with that, because this blind loyalty is taking away our choices.

+General Ivan that's samsung's problem. maybe they should focus on making the phone their customers want rather than always following the market leader's footsteps
@AX5Terminator
@AX5Terminator 9 жыл бұрын
+dan428 No it's not. Samsung is trying to sell more highend phones because they have higher profit margins. They are losing some of their customers to apple after the increase size of the new iphones. Now they are trying to cater to the Apple crowd because of how successful the iphones seem to be. Now us power users are getting the short end of the stick because more people rather have an fashion assessory over a practical device.
@dan428
@dan428 9 жыл бұрын
+General Ivan objectively speaking, regardless of your preferences, the iPhone is the most powerful phone on the market, in terms of processing power. again, it is Samsung's problem if they want to remain in the passenger seat rather than set the agenda

Very even handed review. The phones are so closed you basically just pick the OS you like. The hardware are already the limit of current technology both phones are extremely optimized for its hardware. Before anyone going stupid and want to throw spec at my face, learn what the specs mean. People that designed those things have Phds so if all you know are bigger = better, you are not qualified to talk about specs.

I went with the note 5, I've played around with the Iphone 6 plus, I have a big problem not being able to remove the icons off of the home screen with IOS, as Good as IOS is Apple is still to restrictive for me. if I'm paying almost $800 for a phone then I want it to be customized to my taste. The note 5 has stepped up just a little from the note 4, I love the S pen features, I'm not glad about losing the battery and the sd storage but it's a small price to pay. Wish sammy made a note 5 edge, that would give me the best of both worlds. ...I chose what works best for me, it's not a competition of what phone is better, it's what works for the individual buying the phone. At the end of the day both companies are getting paid in full!

The review could be better if there was side by side comparison of actual use such as looking as same photo, zoom in and out, launch same apps, navigating the internet, etc to see who's faster, who's sharper, snappier, etc. Otherwise all the talking is informative but not as conclusive.

As cool as the Note 5 is, I've become sick of Samsung after 2 phones (Infuse 4G and GS4). The bloatware is annoying. And though I use the Google Now Launcher on the GS4, it does suck the battery tons. I'm hoping that won't be the case or hasn't been the case with the Nexus phones. I'm down to the Nexus 6P and 6s as my next phone. Leaning towards the 6P. Looking forward to your review of the Nexus.

I really hate the idea with using a case, sure it protects them but cases are so ugly and really removes the desirability for the great design which these phones have. And anyways is it not common sense to have such expensive phones insured? I've never used a case and only smashed one phone (due to alcohol lol) but it was insured so I just got a new one.
