While the iPhone 7 Plus retains the design basics of the previous generation it does have a lot of upgrades. Including a new dual camera system, a non mechanical home button, iP67 water resistance, and beefy processor upgrade. But what updates have taken place on the inside of this new iPhone? There’s only one way to find out and that’s to tear it down.

Not for quite a while really. And even if they did, it would be based on the standard usb jack, which any company can make products for without licensing. If samsung invented a new proprietary connector, then slapped it on their phones in place of USB there would be outrage, let alone if they then removed the headphone jack in favor of said connector

you can buy new adhesives online, like for the iphone 6s. Just make sure that the technician that is going to repair your screen, comply with basic standards (meaning that he's not a cheapskate and will invest in 1$ adhesive)

I was wondering the same. But I'm sure that the better quality third party manufacturers of replacement screens will include some type of new gasket with adhesive on the replacement screen.. That is if your screen cracks. I wouldn't open the phone just for fun since you may make it no longer water resistant by doing so.

iphone 6s same way taptic engine is massive I never even used the 3d touch its pretty useless IMO. Maybe if samsung or android gets ahold of something similar it'll become useful but for now it's pretty much the absolute most worthless thing apples made besides the watch of course. I'm glad I got the note 7 I couldn't stand using that iphone for a couple months idk how people do it the software isn't as reliable as it's sold as especially since ios10

@The.JZA. 7 жыл бұрын
Yeah its a good new feature but have you ever used up all of the 2gb of ram in the 6s/6s+? It's quite difficult to do.
@The.JZA.
@The.JZA. 7 жыл бұрын
Yeah but they're also poorly optimised an NEED that much ram just to function properly. Have you seen phone buffs app launch test? The iPhone 6s was the first and only phone to go its entire life cycle undefeated. The test starts with opening a bunch of apps and performing operations. This first part tests storage speed, CPU speed, ram and GPU. Then after completing the 1st round they then go back and reopen all the apps in the same order. If the ram is working the way it should then none of the apps will need to reload. The iPhone 6s with 2gb of ram flew through the test and beat every single competitor including the latest android flagships and even finished both rounds faster than the Note 7 could finish the first round. Just shows that apple know what they're doing when it comes to chip design and software optimisation.

Yes but it also provides the feedback for the 3D Touch on the screen, not just for the home button. That's probably why it has to be that big.

armystrong6920 well if Apple comes up with actual wireless charging, it will be new, innovative and groundbreaking. Because what companies (like Samsung) have right now is inductive charging, not wireless.

The taptic engin literally does the same the as the previous home button. They should of just stick with the an improved version of the home button and still have space for the headphone jack. And FYI, we don't have technology that's better than the headphone jack.

Yes I'm sure this won't change since it's a security measure. The home button will most likely remain paired with the phone's logic board as it is now. Otherwise someone may find a way to pair a new home button with THEIR fingerprint to YOUR phone and potentially get access if it wasn't strictly paired with the original.

Although it's not the easiest job in the world, the iPhone is IMO easier to repair than others smartphones if we take in consideration that most of the times users want to replace a broken screen. Since we have accepted that screen and glass are fused and it's here to stay, I'm glad the screen is easily accessible because the rest of the hardware is attached to the back of the phone. In many cases we see the back cover coming out first and we need to work our way to disassemble each and every peace of hardware before being able to put a new screen on it.
