+maxlol0 probably cuz these machiinary costs afuckton of money,, its almost impossible to just replace the glass without the right tools, in fact there is two methods, using hotgun which may risk burning the protective film if go over 70c rendering the whole screen useless using Dry Ice, which helps solidify the Glue in between the screen then u can take it of shards by shards, but u can easily fuck up when puting the glue back cuz if u went for a little that would lead to unequivalant pressure hence creating airbubbles, and if u wen to far u risk the glu goes to the side of the screen corners damaging it what im trying to say the technique is hideous & impractical without using the right tools. thats why small shops don't use it

Is it still water resistant? When I had my iPhone 5s, I accidentally dropped it and the screen became completely shattered. I took it to a local phone repair shop, and they replaced the screen and charged me $100. They did a bad job with it, because on the side of the phone was sort of a dent and light would shine out of the phone through there. I’m worried if I take my iPhone 8 Plus to get the screen fixed (there’s a small crack, not getting it fixed unless it gets worse) they’ll mess it up and that it will no longer be water resistant.

My iphone 6s got refurbished. The replacement screen is not genuine flatter than the original which is more curved and not that durable, got scratched easily and the placement is a little bit off, the black bezel of the screen was off the center, but over all it works.
