I upgraded from a 6 to an 8 plus. What I’ve discovered is that my 8 still stands up against the 11 & the pro. I can cope with slightly lower battery life & not having night mode. Also I’m not really bothered about not having Face ID. Honestly, I don’t think the cameras are THAT much different. The 8 takes freaking awesome pictures. Im gonna wait another year I reckon. I need more “Wow” before I upgrade.

I feel like I'm the only person who doesn't care about bezels. Top and bottom bezels don't look that dated to me. The only thing that looks dates is super wide bezels, especially along the side. If you ever look at your phone in landscape, the top and bottom bezels are useful to hold on to without impeding viewing of the screen.

Because the 11 has rounded corners it makes the thick bezel obvious around the whole display. When I look at the 7 plus screen I only really see the side bezels.

A lot of stuff KZbinrs comment on or mention seriously isn't that significant or a huge deal to the average consumer. I don't know. I loved my 8+ when I had it and I wouldn't mind getting another one as a spare device, or an XS. But yeah I agree. The "bezels" aren't that deep 😕.

I upgraded my 8 plus to the 11 and I have to say I am happy I did. I have to admit I was starting to get bored of the outdated design of the iPhone 8 and I’m loving the new design on the 11 and playing with all the new features like Face ID, animajis, etc. I certainly didn’t NEED an upgrade because my 8 plus was still running great, but I’m really liking the more modern touches on the 11. Plus, the cameras and new battery life are fantastic.

• Camila R. • actually not at all. It’s still a Retina display so it’s still super clear. And even though I’m pretty sure the 8 plus had a higher resolution than the 11, I feel like the 11 still has a nicer screen. If you’re hesitant about getting the 11 cuz you’re worried about the resolution, definitely disregard that.

Kamyar Paydar just go for the 11, way better battery and camera is amazing. I came from a 6s, where the battery would drain so quickly with a few hours of screen on time. I can watch KZbin on half brightness for 9-10 hours and still have battery and not worry about it dying.

Thanks for being practical. I honestly would’ve kept my 8+ for another year happily if my 11 weren’t literally free for me(actually almost 2 were). It just made sense to hand one down when a family member was in need. I still intend to upgrade again next year probably because that’s what I was waiting on all along. The 11 is actually a great phone for the price, but I navigated quicker & easier with my 8+. I also miss my home button & Touch ID, even though I love Face ID for some in-app auth. There really was nothing wrong with my 8+ that compelled me to leave it, only external factors influencing the upgrade. In fact, your video makes me miss it even more. Lol I enjoyed it.

Still using my iPhone 8 Plus after 2 years it’s still fast and has 94 percent battery capacity. Why would I need to upgrade? I’ll be honest I was actually tempted by the iPhone 11 but not anymore.these so called tech journalists make me laugh. I read an article from Forbes he called the 8 plus a dinosaur and has had its day. How? It has better ppi than the iPhone 11. I’m quite happy with my camera and won’t upgrade just because the new Iphone is slightly faster. Feel better after my rant. Oh and apple have ditched 3D Touch which I love and use.

Ibrahim Akunge I actually try not to let my battery percentage drop below 50 percent. I know that this can be a pain but I’ve done this will all my iPhones and battery has always lasted for years. I do it with my iPad too. I never let it drain completely. I know some experts say you should do this every now and then but I never have. Try it and your percentage will stay higher for longer.

I just upgraded from my iPhone 8 Plus to the 11. Oddly, I’m most excited about the camera (significantly better) and the AUDIO! I only upgraded because my step son wanted an 8 plus (So I’m giving him mine) and my other son is graduating this year. I wanted a better camera in time for his graduation. I was most surprised by the significant improvement in the stereo. I usually hook my phone up to a radio so the sound is better. I don’t need to do that with the improved stereo on the 11. I love it!

Just got the iPhone 11 switching from the 8 plus and the pros I have noticed are that the phone seems faster, Face ID is great and the camera is just a lot better, one thing I didn’t like is that the resolution of the screen is little lower than the 8 and the 3D Touch function to move on the keyboard line doesn’t work on the 11 . Over all a great phone . For got to say the phone is so much more comfortable to hold due to the smaller size .

I’ve been having the same problem! I was so scared I was the only one. I’m going back to get the iPhone 8 Plus back. It’s so much better than the iPhone 11 in my opinion. It’s grainy and just not worth it

1997lilc no, replacement is a waste of time because the motherboard etc in it would usually be stuffed by the time your battery is worn out

Elliot Golding As someone that fixes phones the only issue the original post was if the battery was trash. So the problem would be it would need a battery replacement. Resolving the issue. Also it’s better than buying a new phone since it costs like $20 to get one. I could be wrong so could you please explain how a trash battery would compromise or involve the motherboard in anyway?

Just upgraded my beloved space grey 8 Plus (64gb) to the 11 (128gb space grey too). I will keep the 8 Plus as a secondary phone, cause I still love it, still works perfectly, has no scratches - and it's a beautiful phone, a masterpiece for me. I've been using the 11 for only a few hours, I like the modern design, like the size, love the speed of face ID, and the gestures are very smart, it's much easier (for me) to navigate and switch between apps. The notch doesn't really bother me, I am quite used to it as my work phone is an Iphone X, and we've seen this design for so long around us, that it's not something odd anymore. BUT! After the X (which has an Oled screen with higher resolution) and the 8 Plus (which has an LCD screen but again, with higher resolution), holding the 11 in my hand, looking at the screen, I can tell: the 8 Plus is a proper PREMIUM phone compared to the 11. In my opinion, it's still an OK upgrade but after the 8 plus, the 11 Pro or the Max seem to be the RIGHT upgrade. Anyway, I am still happy with the 11, fits nicely in hand, great new camera features (this is definitely crucial when you hesitate - camera settings, capability, night mode, etc, nice change after the 8 plus) but the 8 Plus is still a legend! A premium one :) I am now using the Iphone 11, happy with it, but i will never sell my brilliant 8 Plus!

I TOTALLY agree with you! I had an iPhone 8 Plus for 2,5 years and all of the iPhones I have ever owned, I can easily say the 8 Plus has been my fav one. I loved the desgin, how the cameras looked, the size of it and the touch ID which is much easier to access. I upgraded to the 11 and I'm enjoying it a lot, but I still love the 8 Plus too tho.

I’m on the 7 Plus, I’m still debating whether I should upgrade or not. I’ve had some problems with the phone like it crashing on me a lot more recently. It’s gotten buggy too, idk if that’s because apps haven’t updated to the new software or my phone is becoming outdated at this point. I might wait another year and see what’s up with the iPhone 12 or 11s
