I still use my iPhone SE (2016) model daily, and I’m typing this comment with it. I’ve had it for eight years now. The battery health is at 76%, I keep it on low power mode to conserve the battery. It still performs well for an eight year old phone. I’m upgrading to the 2022 model next year, glad to see the battery is much better.

A big like for the dedication this took to do! This shows me that the A15 chip in the SE 3 is much more efficient when it comes to hardware accelerated tasks like games and media playback. So the GPU seems to be much better this time around in sipping power. So for users that don't play games or watch videos much on their phone won't see much of a change in battery life, but mobile games will see a noticeable improvement.

All three performed great for the user demographic, that is, non-power users. The SE3 clearly shows that anyone complaining about battery life are mistaken as 7h45m is pretty impressive. So when YT creators and comments say the A15b is overkill we see the real reason to use it, that efficiency that makes it the best SoC in mobile phones by a mile. This is no dount why the iPhone 14 is rumoured to get the A15 as well, still faster than the SD8G1 and 30% plus more efficient. Apple could even put the A15 in the iPhone 15 and be on par with the SD8G2 coming next year! So, if you want the SE3 do not worry about battery life.

There is gonna have to be some sort of cut in price if the A15 is going to be in the iPhone 14.
@andyH_England2 жыл бұрын
@@MikeCobweb Apple was expecting to increase prices of the iPhone 14 by around $100 due to inflation and rising cost of components but by having the A15 they have said that the price will now not rise. I think that is a very fair trade off. The A15 is the iPhone 14 will have the extra core GPU so will be better in gaming, and apparently the A16 has only a minor CPU uptick as we enter the limitations of performance on mobile chips. Having used the A15 I would be happy with it in the iPhone 15 Pro TBH as it is overkill for 99% of users.
@MikeCobweb2 жыл бұрын
@@andyH_England What I will say might sound stuck up to you, but it’s not to me and probably others. I’m not taking any undercuts for a company especially like Apple. They rob people in the name of the environment and overcharge their products cuz of the status quo brand. They’re worth more than 3 trillion dollars due to such practices and sadly people that buy into them. Now I agree; the A15 is plentiful, but Apple will have to compensate with a significantly reduced price, and inflation or not, the customers shouldn’t undercut them for it. The greedy bastards can’t bring themselves to spend from their reserves. If it were a startup company people would gladly take the hit for them since they don’t have billions and billions in dollars of reserves in the bank.
@andyH_England2 жыл бұрын
@@MikeCobweb I would be more worried about trashy over-heating Samsung Fab SD8G1 than Apple giving consumers a brilliant A15. To me, having an S22U that really sucks compared to my iPhone 13 PM, having something that does what it is supposed to do is much better than just updating a chip for the sake of it. The general impression are that the SD888 and SD8G1 are sub-par updates and the SD870 from last year is more efficient and stable. TBH if I was you I would be asking why you are willing to pay so much for SoT like these that suck compared to the A15, and leave the rest of us to marvel at the A15? FWIW all big businesses are after your money so that point is moot and simply biased against a comapany that has been very successful.

From personal experience with all three devices, the first and the newest have the best batteries and I explain why. The first one is not suitable for games and mainly modern ones due to a small screen and an older processor. For this reason I consider the second generation to be the worst of the three.

Without knowing that iPads do not work like iPhones when it comes to battery health, performance doesn’t decrease because of the massive batteries doing a better job despite aging. After the battery replacement, nothing changed, it was still a mess. Since it was so messy already, I continued updating until the last update, iPadOS 15. And it got slightly slower, again. So yeah, beware of iOS / iPadOS updates. Small ones are fine (XX.1 for example doesn’t slow down anything), yearly ones are the ones to avoid if possible. Since that I got an iPhone SE 2022, I’ve done the first major iOS update (iOS 16) to get the support of Metal 3.0 games. But I’m not updating to iOS 17. iOS 16 introduced very minor stutters here and there, but it’s fine like 98% of the time. So I’d say the first update is generally fine, if you own a pro phone / phone with the latest chip at time of release like SE 3. I would upgrade a theoretical iPhone 14 Pro to iOS 17 without much worries. However I wouldn’t update a 14. Since it shares the same chip as the 13 Pro. I’ve seen a lot of people complaining about iOS 17 on 13 Pro. Being slower, stuttery and so on. For iPad Pro and the latest Air, since they now use the very powerful M chips, I don’t know if this applies to the same extent. But for normal iPads and Mini 6, i’d do the same thing as iPhones. Mini 6 should stay on iOS 16 for example.

iPhone SE 2022 amazing 🤩 it's incredible even with a small battery 2018 mah worked almost 8 hours imagine android users with a 5000 mah battery works the same but with a large battery almost 3 times respect apple optimization
@jesusisking17412 жыл бұрын
I have an Android with 5000 mah, and I shattered it, and am using my brother's old se 2 as a main, you can't deny apple's optimization, but it gets awful battery life, the android got at least 10-15 hours of medium to heavy use, apple needs to make an se, but with a 5.5 inch screen, bigger battery, and a good chipset, I'd buy it in a heartbeat

Ive been using iphone 8 plus for the past few years and it was always my dream to have the SE 1st gen. The only thing that concerns me is the battery since it drains more on ios 15. Is there any way I could fix it? I really want to have the SE 1st gen. 😅

The main thing is iPhone SE first generation was launched with an older version of iOS. While the new iPhone SE have updated processors which can run the latest iOS without much pressure on the battery because they have powerful processes. I’m surprised you didn’t consider this.😅

I bought the SE 3 last summer and only used it for a month (I only bought the one month to get the phone on sale). I left it on, no calling, no videos, no games, and it would loose battery so quickly that it would die in one day. One day of just sitting idle! Is there anything I can do to improve the battery life? This is my first iPhone, so thought that is what the battery was like. It has been in the drawer for over a month now.

Ah lemme give you an advice from person who loving both android and Apple. Never use 5G, disable all non useful app background refresh or something (they can still deliver notification but not quite fast), disable sync with data either fetch email/app or iCloud Services and last but not least enable low power mode. Bonus tip: enable airplane mode when in wifi coverage. This could squezze more half hour or more depend on task while screen on. Screen off could be whole two day

I love small phones so I got back to 13 mini from 14promax. It is a brand new sealed box 512gb green one still found on an old stock of a comerciant. But I remembered about first SE being even smaller, so I found few of them being on sell by a guy that said they have been exposed in different shops to allow people see and interact with them. Like new, and battery life from 90 to 100%. I asked for 100% one. Purchased it and I’ll get it in few days. Hope the best and keep my finger crossed. I intend to use it as my daily one. I really reaaaaaly love small phones! I also own Samsung s10e because is the smallest one from Samsung. I love the moments when I can’t feel them in the pocket and for a second I fear I forgot my phone at home :) It happens sometimes with 13 mini. I also owned 12 mini, but 13 has a better battery life, better camera and exactly same size. Now I can’t wait the SE that will make mini to look big by comparing :)

All are good condition? I would prefer to see results with brand new Apple batteries in each one, good is a bit vague especially regarding SE1 and SE2. I would hope the SE3 lasts longer as it will cost double what you would pay for a refurbed SE2 and about 5.5 times the price of an SE1.

So much for those deceptive 15 hours of video Apple likes to advertise. iPhones have such terrible battery. Even if you’re using the iPhones on 20% or less battery, and few notifications, location service off, batteries still drain. Something that I did notice that helps save a little battery life is not using the iPhone speakers for music or video. Use cord headphones. If you’re a power user at home, and wanna remain in the Apple eco-system, then just get an entry level iPad. Those batteries actually last a whole day or 2 of heavy usage. And save battery life longevity on your iPhone for when you’re outside.
