I can’t shut down my iPhone 7+, so I push the volume down and sleep/wake button at the same time while my phone already plugged in with the laptop. And after it shut down then I push the wake/sleep button and keep it but it’s not working

is there any chance at all through a hardware method that one might be able to access the contents of the phone. i have recordings of deceased family members, songs from years ago that we created, pictures of my dogs. 5 years of poetry and literature that I was writing in hopes of creating a novel.. is there anything I could do at all to retrieve these things. I read something about a NAND IC chip.. please tell me someone knows something about this that isn't general knowledge of how to wipe the device...

Once in recovery mode, the pc and phone still do not talk to each other. I just need the restore screen to pop up on the pc.

Question does the phone needs to be connected to wifi because mine isn't its a XR. The screen was broken, so it kept pressing off until it died. Replaced the screen now its saying unresponsive.

Hello this not.s a good a option and the lost date if a customer phone has no backup 3u tools will do a restore and no data is Lost I understand at time you say 3 u tools was not.s working for this model but this method is possible

is the phone is unavailable, I would consider the data on the phone to already be lost this is a full destructive reinstall of iOS , which means no data Is preserved

mine becomes like that when I listen to music n walk fast. It prolly goes to that bc of the motion itself or the motion causing incorrect passwords bc it wants to b unlocked bc im listening to music. Thanks

sounds like the motion woke the screen then it would try and unlock was the screen facing in towards your leg, rather than out?

thats normal, it will remove the Passcode but will still need the icloud details that was previous entered in o nthe phone

I'm a diehard Android user, but I had to help my elderly father-in-law recently because he entered his passcode wrong too many times while he was in the hospital recovering from back surgery. I spoke to T-Mobile technical support and then Apple, and I was shocked to learn that his iPhone 13 could not be unlocked and had to be reset. And of course he did not have backups turned on for some reason, so he lost EVERYTHING. Why does Apple think this is a good idea?? Surely they could make it so you could prove to Apple that you are the authorized user/owner, and allow the phone to be manually unlocked? And there is no way to disable this "feature". So I guess if you really want to screw with an iPhone user, just keep putting in the wrong passcode when they're not around. Even if they do have backups turned on, the process to do a factory reset is not convenient, since you can't just do it on the phone like you can with an Android. You have to hook the iPhone to a computer and do it through iTunes or some other utility. And of course when I tried to do it, it did not go smoothly. I had to try a couple different computers and several different cables before it would finally be recognized by the computer.
