You don't have to "press really really hard" on the lock screen. It's based on the length of time you touch the icon vs pressure. The latest 12.1.1 updated allows a little more use of haptic touch. You can now long press (it's actually pretty quick) message notifications on the lock screen to reply to messages from the lock screen.

You just have to press on it longer and it works like a charm. The only thing that's frustrating is that the cursor function that you get by holding down on the space bar in a keyboard, only works about half the time!!

Well in my case - I chose the XR over the XS because I prefer LCD over OLED. My good old Sammy S7 showed burn in, and for someone like me who uses wallps for weeks or months, that would be a pain. A thousand dollar phone which has a screwed screen would be painful af 😂🤣😆. Bet my XR would run for like 5 years without any screen issues! 😉😉😉

I’m totally blind, and the guy in the Apple store spent 20 minutes trying to convince me to pay the extra for the camera and display on the Xs max! Love the wireless charging in my folio case, the audio output from the speakers and the new gestures. For any other blind people, turn off “requires attention “, or Face ID won’t work!

Iphone XR at least does not have PWM (like the iPhone XS max with OLED screens - so you won't get sore eyes - had to return my XS max - be warned if you are getting sore eyes or headaches it is the modulation of the OLED screens - Apple has failed to test it properly on all users - and have raised it with them... (not that they were of any help..)

I have the XR in blue and it's good for me. Yeah it's not OLED but I was impressed with the LCD screen. Takes good photos and videos. If you're not picky about screens and you're just an average Joe using it, you'll love this phone.

GrvaityGamingJavari 1.0 I prefer Apple LCD displays. I had the S7 Edge with Quad HD OLED but I preferred my old iPad 4th generation LCD display over the OLED. The XR LCD is incredible.

This phone is a good choice unless you’re a member of the “ppi patrol” as Flossy Carter would say. If you forget about the screen numbers, you would never even notice the lower res screen. I came from an iPhone X and it took me 2 days to forget about the oled. It’s worth it for the battery trade off.

I love the xr it’s nice to be able to have an “affordable” iPhone. I had the xs max and couldn’t justify the purchase due to sticker or cost shock mostly. Not missing a lot of the features that are missing between the two and the LCD screen is awesome for me. It’s not going to cost me a second mortgage on my house in order to replace the screen.

You get used to the thickness of the phone ... I changed over from the iPhone 6s Plus and bitched about the thickness for the first few days but than didn’t even notice it.. also the bezels aren’t as bad as people make it look.. for gods sake coming from anything before the iPhoneX was thick bezels so relax people ... display yea 1080p would be nice but nevertheless this display is still nice

After 3 years my XR is working fine. After updating to ios16 battery backup is improved. May be for next 3-4 years I don’t need to buy other phones. Thanks to apple for this phone.. ❤

OLED uses more power than a good modern LCD display at over 65% white pixels. Theyre not that efficient especially the ones the xs max because they get super bright. (Brightest oleds in the world)

I just upgraded from the iPhone 8 Plus (loved it btw) some point of pros & cons of my iPhone history between the 2 : disliked the borders especially if you owned a white variant • never actually used 3D Touch (without thinking about it) •A12 is a better noticeable experience vs A11 •I didn’t see the point of the oled premium when apple is apparently overhauling the design in 2020.

go for 11 if u want the A13 chip and an extra telephoto camera with new tech like night mode. Otherwise, nothing is significantly better than XR, even the battery is worse than XR in some tests
