Yeah same I have an XR but recent ios 18 update gave a whole lot of issues. Normal tasks are fine but gaming is an issue, lot of lag and heat. I ended up downgrading to ios 18 because of it.

The reason why your finger glides across the 16 pro much better than XS is because the screen is new so its oleophobic coating is not worn down. Someday the 16 pros screen will be like the XS when the oleophobic coating wears down.

iPhone 4 frame was actually made from stainless steel, not aluminum. Also, I recommend you to use the Settings app on your new iPhone 16 Pro to disable charging it over 80% and prolong battery lifespan.

I’ve been charging my iPhone13 to 100% for 3 years and the battery health is 83%. So I don’t see the point in saving battery. I’ll just buy a replacement and be back to 100% again for the next 3 years

Just last month I bought a XS for $150 to upgrade from my dying 6s, around the same time my dad bought a 15 Pro to upgrade from his 8. While I can clearly tell the 15 Pro is better than the XS, for around 9x the price it doesn’t feel like a 9x better phone.

Yeah as long as you’re not bothered with the high refresh rate, performance, camera capabilities, performance, connections, and port versatility, you’re okay with that. I’m still using my XS max but I’m planning to upgrade to 16 Pro Max this January because of the aging internals. It’ll be my next phone for 4-6 years but people have personal preferences and opinions so it’s your choice to enjoy your new and fresh phone

@Pearloryx I actually got a 16 Pro now because my carrier was offering some ridiculous sales on it $250 eBay 12 Pro --> $1000 trade in credit --> 16 Pro I still use my XS as a secondary phone at home so I can leave my 16 Pro on 80% battery cap without needing to stay near a charger all the time, which will hopefully make the battery health last longer, and it still works great

We will wait and see if the phones with the a12 and A13 Bionic get iOS 19 btw I have an a14 and it does really well in everything but gaming, it gets really hot and kills the battery

I feel the same as you dude, and not with the iphones, but with the samsung galaxies, I used to love them, but, every passing year, removing features one by one, like the sd card slot, the curved screen, the ui that gave them personality, all things that they now look like a cheap iPhone, I might consider getting an iPhone at this point, but I don't want to be locked on the "ecosystem", I want to have diversity and use as many different technologies as I can, but they try to make it Soo, similar... it disgust me a lot...
