Despite how the images from the Pixel 3XL and the Galaxy S10+ look here, most users won't get to enjoy that quality because most social media such as Whatsapp, Snapchat and Instagram will most likely compress the quality of the pics, while the iPhone XS will be in full quality. Tech KZbinrs always forget to point this out.

Faction Less IG mode on Samsung is a joke. I've been using Samsung and iPhone, and in that case the difference is very noticeable with upload quality. Nice video and production Sam! All three cameras are great in different ways, but my pick goes to the S10+ just slightly. The photos right out of the box in normal mode are so lively and sharp and ready for social media or general sharing, and having the ultra-wide as well as telephoto lens just makes it that much better. The iPhone is definitely superior at videos and the pixel's night mode crushes the other two. Also I believe the S10 is the only one that supports 4K recording from the front camera. Apparently the S10 line is getting a dedicated "super night mode" in a future update, so we'll see :P One main point however is that I think no one should buy a phone purely for the camera given that they're all so excellent (unless you've got the $ for multiple phones) as there are 100 other things you'd do on a flagship smartphone - like watching videos, games, social media, productivity, etc. And so for me personally, I'd get the S10+ simply because it packs an immense amount of hardware crafted together beautifully, and their revamped software with a million features out of the box makes it an overall awesome experience. The Pixel is also a great phone but to me, stock Android has always been a bit lacklustre, but still could find myself using it if the Pixel hardware gets better one day. And I'm just not an iOS person but I'm sure the iPhone is an awesome phone too haha. Sorry for the mini article, just wanted to share a more purchase-decision style review. Keep up the sick content!

the pixel 3 is the worst phone out of the three here. the image rendering is frustrating just as a start; to someone who likes to take a pic and upload it it might be the better option here, but if you're remotly interested in getting proper/realistic/editable photos its the worst of the bunch by a long shot and thats just camera wise. not to mention the pixel has the worst screen and slowest processor, bad ergonomics and the plethora of google issues. They have gone down since the original XL which is why you see hardly anyone with a pixel now (and thats a shame, i loved the first one). you can even get the 4 XL (better but not much than the 3) for £449, cheaper in sales! as they just cannot sell them...the S10+ & iPhone are still selling for around £800~ even when theh newer model is out - basically google admitting its half the phone of its rivavls. Buy an S10+/S20 ultra/P30 pro or an 11 XS max and above over any pixel unless you get it for a few hundred

I do think in terms of rendering, the iPhone wins. The Pixel usually has a more pleasing image, but at the expense of crushing darks, which isn't really true to the eye. All things considered though, they're all good.

7:04 The reason the S10 has the least Bokeh in those shots is because in strong light it uses the F2.4 Aperture instead of 1.5.

Best camera comparison I have seen so far. I own a Pixel 3 XL but I may be getting a XS. I really don't like the contrasty look of my Pixel photos. 3 out of 5 photos come out much too dark and lose detail in shadows. I think the iPhones Smart HDR does a much better job. It also uses its Smart HDR in Video.

I am surprised by this video and agree with you. I really do no like iPhones for a lot of reasons but I'm am thinking that of trying one out for the first time soon. Just want to wait for the sony xperia one to come out. It will have a cinematic ratio of 21:9 and 3 camera's with one being a wide angle. Also it with be the first phone with eye auto focus so I'm curious. If the camera is no good I'm ditching android I think. I can't believe I said that.

Were you using "night mode" settings for those pictures? Or were they just normal pictures taken at night? Because I have kids and take lots of low light photos of them playing outside or in the house. Most of the time I will just be pointing and clicking so I don't miss whatever is going on.

I have been trying them all and none are perfect at busy kids and low light. I think Pixel or S10 would serve you well. You won't have time to use night sight with kids unless you have them stay still and pose. It looks like iPhone can't handle night shots as of yet.

The rear video test the iPhone looks smoother while the other two are jerkier when you move your head around it looks like the shutter speed is too high and makes it look more stop-motiony. When panning they also jerk more. Do you think this is because of electronic stabilization? Maybe the iPhone has it off or just has a way better implementation of it?

To top that Dxomark sets the standard for photography and video and there professional opinion is very much different to. For point and shoot it's a good phone but it's software is it's strong suit. And the worse part of that is everybody and there brother has the software now so you can add it to other phones with better Camera sensors and make them that much better then they already were.

If anything, this video probably just made the decision even harder. I'm coming up on the end of my contract and want to upgrade, but I don't know which phone to get! Photo quality is a huge factor for me, probably more so than any other feature on a smartphone. I don't record video often, so that's less of a concern than still image quality. In most of the comparisons in this video I liked the Pixel's images most. But the GS10 definitely stood out in many of them also, so I'm having a hard time deciding here lol.

it is worth noting that since the Pixel 3 shoots in RAW as well, any "flexibility in post" that a person is looking for, can be done using the RAW files. The average person is not going to post with their Phont-ography, so the photos should look as good as possible straight off the phone.

DNG is usually 20 - 30 mb. It'll take up significantly more space than say, a HEIC. If you want more contrast on the iPhone, use Lightroom CC and actually shoot in RAW. The dynamic range is worse coming straight off the sensor.

Hears the kicker. You can download Google cam aka Gcam to any Android and in most cases have a better working camera then any Pixel. Me personally, I love my Xiaomi Mi 9 without the app beats the Pixel 3 but with the app makes it that much better in it's week spots. Like portrait mode is awesome now with Gcam

After having my S10+ for a few months I prefer the camera overall on the XS Max. It almost always looks like what was in front of me. I don't edit anything either and I take pictures/videos of everything. Everything from daily people shots, night time shots, my fish tanks and monster fish, my basketball games, my 4k Dolby Vision tv anything I can keep memories of or show off. I carry a iPhone X and S10+ with Google cam mod but any chance I get I grab my girlfriend's iPhone XS Max. Unless we see what the cameras are looking at in comparison videos we won't see the real picture. Been watching too many reviews on these comparisons that at first after having the phones I was like everyone is lying in their videos lol. But after showing some of my comparisons people got a better idea since they could see a video or pictures of my camera targets and the viewfiender on the phones. People will like have a different opinion after seeing how it should of look. Depending on which phone took videos of my fish people will react accordingly when they see them in person. "They don't look that big in the videos "I get a lot but that's kinda a given. Hard to scale from videos if you have a bunch of 20" fish. But the color accuracy is what gets people the most about the phones. They always like them better in person if they saw my android footage. My green peacock bass look more neon from Android while iOS had them true to life. But I will say the S10+ has done a lot better than previous Galaxy phones have done with my fish. I can actually feel confident using it and not have people comment for me to change my camera instead of commenting on my fish.

good vid, but a note for future. A very high percentage of phone users (me included) use their photo for business and product shots. THATs what I want to see in a comparison. Id never be shooting into the sun with a dark shadowed hedge in front of me.... but I would be taking product shots for my online shop.

That wide angle lense alone would make me upgrade from s9... that is once the s10e comes down to reasonable price.

Well I found one with for $400 used and pulled the trigger. Once Google Cam was installed , all was made well will the camera. Much better exposure and HDR compared to stock , and works with wide angle.

Iphone xs - best videography phone.... good picsin daylight Pixel 3 - really great photos..both in day and night scenes.....not bad videos but not better than other two S10 - good video,but overexposed photos especially skies!!!!

Wrong. The iphone was the worst at everything except for having the best audio on the selfie vid. All of it's pics were flat and lacking details. The Pixel looked better at night time pics. And the S10+ was better over all, except the night pics, which it still did well. The S10+ pics were WAY better than the iphones, which were way too flat.
