In this video I refurbish my Dad's old 5th generation iPod video with an SD card mod, upgraded battery, clear front panel, and rainbow back.

5:22 - With that card adaptor and Samsung card combination, do you experience any kind of skipping when playing music or have any boot issues, or does it all work okay?

All seems to be working okay so far! I've done a couple hours of listening and haven't noticed any skipping or boot issues.

What capacity battery did you put in? I was looking at getting that SD adapter but they're sold out. Just wondering what size battery worked with it. I'll probably go with the quad SD and flat 3000mah if I can locate the sd adapter.

Which is better, the adapter you used in this vid or the iFlash Quad? I'm not gonna used all 4 slots but it's thin enough to have both a 3000 mah batter and the quad in it, in a thin back.

iFlash is definitely better. I went with the one I used to save a couple dollars, but I heavily considered the iFlash.

It depends on what you want to do. Some people say the eyelashes better but loads of people have the other one completely fine.

They seem to work fine they can be a bit funny sometimes but people are still using them who posted a video installing 110 years ago so I don’t think they would still be putting them in if they didn’t work

Mine always go to apple logo for kinda long then looks like it was reset again. What should I do?

Is your iPod modded? Couple things you could try... 1.Try to reset it by holding the menu/select buttons. 2. Plug it into a computer and reboot. These are just a couple quick things to try. Depending on mods, age, condition, etc it may require a more complex solution. Best of luck!

@@BringingItBack i just bought it online and its not syncing well at first and i tried to reset it. Then that happened. :(

Excellent quick review of the steps! Doe you know if Elite Obsolete Electronics would do a similar rebuild of a 4th Gen Classic monochrome, replacing HD with 128G flash and new battery? Thanks!

i have the fat 80gb ipod. can i get thin back instead? i can get the hold switch and headphone part put in for me. i have to go to quite a few sites to get parts it seems like.

It depends on the battery or other mods used. Elite Obsolete Electronics usually mentions the compatibility in the description. (I'm not sure about other sites) In this video I'm using a "thin" back with a 2000mah Square Model Extended Capacity Battery.

you can put a slim backplate on your ipod but if you want a 3000mah battery you'll need an iflash quad.

It’s not ugly, but it’s an aesthetic choice you have to like if you feel the need to say is that ugly I would not recommend repairing one of these because you would have to see what the inside looks like
