Literally the first time I heard the song I said "oh they just loved the Doom soundtrack and wanted to do it with lyrics" haha turns out I was right. Love the song! It's one of my favourites and I'm obsessed with the kick patterns in it

That's a really interesting insight if you think about it.. Seeing cultural trends and musical breakthroughs, and watching them cascade throughout all of the music we listen to, it's so neat to observe. It's like watching the band play live, while also being the band itself. I said something similar haha! Praise be Mick Gordon!

Mick Gordon had huge influence on the metal scene. Hell he co produced BMTH's Post Human Survival Horror and it pretty much shaped the current trend of metal sound.

Awesome 🎉 This song is one of the most compelling and powerful songs I know. To me, it's about putting in blood sweat and tears into something, then an arrogant adversary comes and apposes you. But because you've put in the hard honest work, and your opposition is just fueled by ego, you demonstrate your value and put your opposition to shame (which is the inevitable consequence of pride).

What's weird is that Doom Eternal wasn't even out when the album came out, so this was more inspired by Doom 2016, super cool but I always though of 2016 as the more experimental synthy one and Eternal as the straight up heavy one. Also cool that they achieved that Mick Gordon style by doing the opposite of what he does, he's said he tries to avoid layering whenever possible, but what makes this song special is just layers on layers, and I love it.

metal should get way more recognition in the music scene. I feel like it's often overlooked, but when you really break it down, there's a lot of technique in playing metal, nevermind all the feeling that people pour into the lyrics and stuff. and this might be my personal bias, but i feel like you guys deserve ALL the awards, lol

I love these breakdown videos! They showcase how much work goes into writing a song, which is hard for those of us outside the industry to comprehend. The thought and talent that goes into each layer is phenomenal and I love watching how the song grows and develops. I absolutely love your music but these videos give me an even deeper appreciation for the incredible talent that you each bring to every song. I also love that you’re such strong and powerful advocates around mental health issues.

Saw them in Asbury Park New Jersey after Pierce the Veil opened for them in 2022 for their first show. About 1/4 of the crowd left (maybe more) after Pierce got done opening. Me and my Fiance at the time were like "we don't know anything about I Prevail, but we'll give them a few songs" we stayed the entire time, and I still have dreams of how well they played. I swear to god I've never moved so much listening to a band play Raining Blood randomly in their set.
