That's what happens when you're in a traditional house, all you do is cook, clean, and take care of the kids. I bet the only thing she does with her free time is either shop or watch tv. I mean, if that's the life she wants, then by all means, but man fuck that.

My very "masculine" Jamaican dad is the one who did (and still does at 82) all the cooking in our household. My mom was "lucky" if he let her into his kitchen every now and then to cook something. He still hovers over any of us if we're cooking something in his kitchen or try to wash the dishes (because we "aren't doing it right"). He also did all the sewing and mending, grocery shopping, gardening, and any fixing/house repairs; while mom does laundry, house cleaning, and household goods shopping. It's not about "masculine" and "feminine" roles, it's about what each person does best, enjoys more, or has time for. I could never be with a man who believes in this "women's place" bs. I was raised better than that.

Wish I could find a guy like that. I hate cooking and cleaning but I have no problem doing it. My dad was military and mom was a stay at home wife she did the majority of the house hold work but my dad had no problem cooking and cleaning even at times telling my mom to kick back or go out while he took care of us(3 girls) and the house.

@@herelookinatu I personally think cooking and cleaning is an aspect of our essence as humans. What you prepare to eat to keep you alive and making your environment tidy to stay healthy should be a second nature to everyone, man or woman. But hey, what do I know!

@herelookinatu 3 жыл бұрын
@@jayaustin1939 I totally agree with you however so many people bring it up in a debate of gender roles and why women should do more of it then men. I'm a good cook and a little ocd when it comes to cleaning but I really can't stand to do it. That's why I mentioned wanting a guy that didn't have a problem doing those things without feeling like he is less then a man. Because as you said and I do believe that they are just basic things in life you have to do.

I'm from jamaica and the concept of "masculine" and "feminine" varies by culture and time period. I ln Jamaica it is considered masculine to be a good cook and to be very clean. My dad would force me to wash my sneakers right after I wear them and he also thought me to do laundry early because a man is to look presentable at all times. But going back in time Men use to wear heels, wigs and makeup in the victorian era in england. The scotts men wore skirts, japanese men used to wear kimono (which looks like dresses). Social norms change all the time.

That is what I wanted to see in this review. To show that sometimes, some men do want to do more around the house to feel like they can contribute more and feel connected with the house and partner they are supporting, besides being a walking wallet. That unhealthy eating style of just ramen noodles and packaged foods must be killing his arteries too. Looks like "traditional wife" wants him to be a literal Tombstone for real. 💀The dude looks like he could have an early stroke or heart attack and never come out of it ever. 😰I think that swap made a positive impact, if not mentally, at least physically from a health perspective.

I find that most of the men that ascribe to the "a womans place is in the kitchen" have not spent much time on their own. Generally speaking, after you have lived on your own for a while, you learn the value of helping, after having to work full time, feed yourself, and keep your place clean. An obvious exception are people that happily live like slobs and/or just order their food.

My parents were partners, no one was submissive to the other, there was 6 kids we all helped with chores. My father worked nights so he was there to raise us mostly. Later in thier marriage he became the breadwinner and my mother handled the family finances, not because she was trying to dominate, frankly she was just better at it. That's how my husband and I operate were partners and we talk about what needs to be done and who's the best choice for the job. My husband's family was the opposite his dad tried to dominate the family instead of everyone working together. He wouldn't allow his mother to work. Even though he was not a good provider due to his drug use. She ended up losing thier home and had to live with family. On which my husband recalls as the most miserable time in his life. He has issues to this day he has not worked out from his toxic upbringing. My point is your pride can also be your downfall.

My problem with people saying that they believe in traditional roles is that they don't seem to have a basic understanding of what those roles where. As a historian who focuses on women and their lives I have never seen any signs of a woman that should be seen not heard. That wasn't their role. They were social, which is why they where young they were trained to understand social interraction and be good at it. They should know all the social rules, who to speak to and what to speak of. They were suppose to listen to rumors so they could advice their husband on where to lay their interests. They were also expected to know a large amount of languages and subjects so they could carry a conversation. They represented their husbands business in this social world and brought connections to their husbands so they needed to be perfect and wellversed in the social. Both hosting dinner parties and going to them, being agreeable enough to be invited again. That is outside the fact that the woman was the one who was the spender, she was the one who would ensure that the household goes around and I don't just mean making the dishes. But her job was to ensure that the home was decorated right, that the food was healthy and that the costs were on target. Women were also a sponsor of charity, art and eductation. And men had nothing to say in these matters. If his wife spends to much, he was considered a bad provider. It's true that these roles where different depending on your station in society, along with which country and during which period. The problem wasn't that women didn't do anything, women were the driving force in modernizing the homes in both architecture and the technology, but the problem was that they never got the recognition they deserved for doing the things they did. It always went to their husbands or their fathers. With all that said, most women is a bit of traditionalists even today. You tell me which woman would allow a man to host any holiday today, or dress their children or for that matter plan a wedding. Not to mention that women still control a large part of the household such as how the home looks like, what the family eat and so on. Seems to me like both women are traditionalists in the video, it's just that one of them doesn't understand what traditional means and the other just don't care.

It’s funny how vegan food is automatically equated with healthy food. When in reality that type of food has the highest omega 6 ratio and countless amounts of inflammatory anti nutrients that your body really does not need. Not to mention the lack of bioavailability of plant matter to the human body. Just eat meat and animal food. It’s the best super food for our species. Just like our ancestors started eating it in high amounts nearly 3 million years ago. If it were so bad for you, we wouldn’t have survived by now. If you avoid junk food and high sugar foods, you’re gonna be healthy no matter what you eat.

@@anzelaiv veganism isn’t easy. 80-84 percent of vegans leave the diet eventually. If you’re not taking supplements on the side, you will definitely fail. There’s no question about it. As for the meat part. You can pretty much get away with grain fed and factory raised meat just as well so long as you don’t mix your diet with junks, high glucose and sugar diets. Grass fed is always a bit healthier, but not by much.
@anzelaiv
@anzelaiv 3 жыл бұрын
@@leoalphaproductions8642 I might disagree with you slightly on the meat part, but completely agree about veganism. At present times veganism is a luxury that people indulge in because they can. Traditional values are so weird. They're so flawed, inefficient, and pointless. There's no basis other than magical sky daddy's. If both members contribute to housework it is done faster giving more free time for activities. You make a mess you clean it up? Is your wife a slave? How pathetic. What kind of a man has to have a woman wipe his azz? I bet this guy can't do anything without his girl and his fragile ego won't let him admit it. Proof of these were in the ruins of Pompeii as houses of the middle class and craftsmens and hand workers has no kitchen spot. And houses with giant kitchens but no bedrooms or suites are laid scattered around the center of the city (restaurants) In the peak of Roman civilization, dining out was the culture. I can relate to having people judge my relationship with my wife. I very rarely cook at all, except for when my wife isn't home and I'm hungry. I clean, but not nearly as much as my wife. I don't drive, she does. We both work full-time jobs and there have been times in our marriage where she made more money than me. When we are at home she mostly caters to me with bringing me drinks, making me plates of food, washing my clothes, etc. There are also things I do for her. I am the protector of my home, the home repairman, the one walking the dog, and random things that I'm just better at then her. Our relationship works because we respect each other and we play to our strengths. I think no one has the right to judge someone else's relationship, as long as it is consensual and healthy. I don't care if another guy is unemployed, plays video games all day, is a slob, and has a partner who does everything for him. If they are both happy with the arrangement, then it is all good.

It didn't make sense financially to have them in daycare while I worked my job because 1) daycare was 1000.00 a child for their age and 2 ) we would be in a higher tax bracket essentially leaving us with less money if I didn't work. So until they're old enough to be inschool full time we chose for me to stay home with them. And both of us knows the roles we play in the house is beneficial for us all as a whole.
