Well, to get the context right, they befriended the store owners, said they’d like to make friends to leave a positive review for each other, then blindsided them by leaving a negative review. The negative review ended up being false, but they didn’t apologize for the false accusation. Then they continued to make new negative reviews every week for 4 months in the hopes that the business will go under. So that’s the correct unbiased context of what A&P did. I'm a lawyer and I tell my clients, did you do the thing they said you did? If yes, ignore it and hope it goes away. Do not engage, do not talk, take a vacation. If no, address it and move on. If there's evidence of defamation/libel, my clients are private so the burden is much lower, be prepared to fork over big bucks for the possibility of being reimbursed in a year or two. Its just not worth it for most people.

Slander and defamation from my understanding are lies about the character of an individual or group. In court you’d need to prove that the defendant knew what they were saying is false and caused harm. Talking about another podcast or something like that

I don't know where you live but the US constitution also give you the freedom to talk all the trash you want about someone with the exception of slander and defaming. Aba & Preach (Canadians) met the US constitution requirements of free speech, the US copyright requirements of fair use, and F&F would most likely fail to demonstrate defamation and slander. It would be hard to prove slander particularly when Fit insulted Preach's wife (a non-public figure). A judge would laugh at these guys. When you're slinging insults out, you can't sue for the insults coming back in at you. Mutual combat.

I watch Timcast IRL regularly, almost nightly, and I nearly turned it off the moment I saw them as guests. Then on second thought I figured let's see if these two can actually contribute something meaningful. Alas I was not surprised when they did not. Fresh barely said 20 words in 2 hours. And Fit couldn't even offer anything insightful from his "former fed" angle. However, my time was 100% paid off when Tim read that superchat. It was glorious. Tim telling to their face they were wrong and not allowing them to flake is why Tim Pool is worth the watch. It's why he's become so successful. He don't play. Ya'll would be far more intriguing guests. Here's hoping one day Tim invites you two on.
