lived in Ipswich 77 &78 Loved the town and the people Everywhere changes and not always for the better Still miss the people and the place as it once was. Darts wirh Beattie at the Blooming Fushcia, FA Cup final night in the town, Christchurch Park with my girlfrind in the summer of 77 and the music Good times

I lived in Bramford, just off the old A1100 Ipswich bypass 1971 to 1976 while serving in the RAF at Wattisham. At that time Ipswich was a pleasant but not remarklable small town. no serious problems, quiet and modest house costs. Sadly since the influx of a huge number of unwanted migrants has seen a serious decline in its desirability to a point where I would not go back.

Can't disagree. Lived there in the early mid 70's and went back a few years back. What a turn down; the whole town centre is run down and neglected. The highlight of a Saturday night was going to the Intercon disco, then ending up at the Heidleberg Inn for a late meal. Such fun then - ! 😅

Ipswich is not what it was. Gone are the (relatively) good days. Much of the place is now dirty and general behaviour, in public, is anything but polite. Pity. It has a long and very interesting history. Good location close to coast. Lot of potential. A few examples of attractive architecture still remain, but are cared for very selectively-some are clearly doomed. But at least the football team is in the Premier League!!
