Nice video. It felt like I was a passenger. Reminds me how much you can't see with a bonnet. Euro cab over with nice mirrors all the way for me.

Good to see this perspective with narrative and without emotional expletives. My younger brother, his in law family and sons have all been heavy articulated drivers and usually when they get home the conversation starts with; "You wouldn't believe..." talking about car drivers. His views, like yours, have given me a better understanding of how much misunderstanding people have of heavy vehicle driving. Then there are issues like having to change a wheel in the worst places or a burst air hose... Oh! Dear. Much respect.

Thanks for the video. The average driver has no appreciation of what truck drivers have to do in traffic. Average drivers take unnecessary risks close to trucks.

Interesting video, Terry. That BP service centre at Larapinta is just like any other BP servo and is very busy most of the time. However long it's been there (I can't remember exactly), it could well have been opened five years earlier and been half as big again; it was sorely needed. I retired a year ago and worked out of the Woolworths DC across the road, driving for Linfox and spent many a 30 minute break there. People driving cars probably would not realise that from the BP up to the Mt Lindsay Hwy overpass is slightly uphill and can really pull a loaded truck back.

I stopped there once and was not overly impressed. and heading north you get stung with extra toll to get back on motorway!

Well done Terry. Hope this type of video is seen by idiots who found a licence in the bottom of their kids fruit loops box. It is so incredibly frustrating (and down right f@$king dangerous) when people don't get up to the posted speed limit before merging. Especially when they are so far ahead of you on the on ramp before merging. There should be no reason for the vehicles on a motorway/highway/freeway to ever have to reduce speed to accommodate a dead shit who takes 38km to get to the posted speed limit. Butterfly effect. Someone merging at 75-80kph into traffic doing 100kph means bad shit happens 5km back.

Why be in a hurry in a truck, you have thousands of dollars in machinery and goods which are really under the control of your right foot. One stuff up by anyone on the road , and your life is shattered. Humans dont think about that until it actually happens to them, which its too late then.
@gsd4me002 жыл бұрын
Truck drivers with their controlled driving hours are always battling the clock so cannot afford to muck around too much.
@ashleyflint35012 жыл бұрын
@@gsd4me00 Muck around at what cost ? driver gets paid $50 an hour x 10 hours = $500. So we kill people or write the whole show off in an accident for $500 for that day, , and possibly go to jail. Now that sounds like a great career course. If you get paid less per hour , sounds even better.
