Whole defence needs to have a serious look at themselves. There are individual mistakes but it gets compounded by a lack of organisation and daft decision making. For that second goal, watch Colwill. Tosin does the right thing in following Delap When Hutchinson receives the ball and moves to the left, Colwill stays behind Disasi instead of filling the gap. Of course, Disasi is ultimately to blame for such a careless pass but they compound things with a lack of awareness.

3 things wrong with this game - Playing 3 at the back - High-pressing a team you're better than man-to-man - Caicedo playing high up the pitch. Once he's beaten, it's an open run at goal. Start Gusto or James, play a simple 4-2-3-1 formation, allow Ipswich to have the ball, and let them beat the players man-to-man. This game was lost due to cute Guardiola-style tactics that could have been corrected at the start of the second half. It makes no sense to blame Felix, or Nkunku in a game Palmer was also bad in.

I don’t know about you, but I was born in 1992, and when I grew up during my childhood and teenage years, I was used to watching true legends of football. For me, the best era of football was from 2000 to 2016. Watching matches back then was incredible! That generation was simply golden. Imagine seeing Brazil in 2002, the Euro 2004, the 2006 World Cup, Euro 2008, etc. Watching Champions League matches felt like legends versus legends. And let’s not even talk about the Chelsea team of that time. I don’t know about you, but when I look at today’s players like Caicedo, Enzo Fernández, Jackson, or any Chelsea player, I don’t see legends. I look at the players from any team, and they’re just normal players… nothing compared to football’s golden generation. It pains me to watch football now; it’s just a shadow of what it used to be.

I am still backing Enzo Maresca because he told us from day one that we are not ready to challenge for anything yet. However, I think he underestimated the opponent, plus he wanted to prove to those calling for Felix and Nkunku to start wrong. We need a mature backline, a proper RB, get rid of deadweights like Madueke, Disasi, get another winger and a proven striker before we can be ready. Until then, we are average team and he will struggle getting us top four with these players.
