I love how PnP in Edmonton has an old car section. PnP in Calgary used to have one but not anymore. Enjoy your walk throughs at the yards, gives me my old car fix.

That mustang 2 brought some memories back. Had a 78, same body style and same color but had a 2.3l and a 4 speed. Lots of good memories in that car. Funny how it seemed so old back then, the car was only 11 years old when i got it. What i drive now is 17 years old and does not seem like its old.
Wow theres a lot of old stuff there. The pick a part in my area closed a couple years ago. You are right about the 300 six, I've had lots of them, they are great engines.I had all thee old Fords at one time or another. Thanks for the tour, I enjoyed it.

We used to call the Continentals “Continents” - because driving them - they felt that big. The Toyota is a Corona - which was their upmarket sedan. That probably had the same powertrain as the early Celicas. The clue that it’s not a Corolla is that the Corollas from that era had single headlights, not the dual setup. Also, alongside the contemporary Corollas, the Corona was longer and wider.

Cavalier was the J body. My first car was an 83. The Buick was the X body. Different car. This video takes me back 😢

That tornado would definitely have an Oldsmobile motor in it. They were all front wheel drive and the transmission would only bolt to a Buick or Oldsmobile engine. I believe the Cadillac eldorado was built on the same driveline.

Small correction, that old Plymouth was a "Virgil Exner" car. Harley Earl was a designer at GM. You seemed to have combined their names.

4th gen Camaro never got the 305. The LS1 didn't come out until 1998, before that the Z28 and SS had the LT1 or LT4. The third gen Camaro/Firebird didn't get a 350 until 1987, that being a 1985 would be a 305. And it was Virgil Exner, not Earl. But being tired and again, being a Ford girl, I don't hold it against you. 😊

I'm watching this in segments - as I have time. The Mustang II gets a lot of hate for a combination of styling issues and being choked to death by early emissions controls. It follows on the "coke bottle styling" that you see in the Maverick and Pinto (in fact, I think the underpinnings are partially derived from an "upsized" version of the Pinto design - not positive about that). I always liked the Mustang II - I thought it was a pretty good looking little car, but the step away from the more "muscular" looking late-60s versions of the Mustangs (I'll ignore the early 70s ones) which focused on brute power caused a lot of people to dislike these. They really were a step back to the first generation Mustangs which were "pony cars" not "muscle cars" - and they found quite a market among people who wanted "sporty", but not necessarily "muscle".
