Really tempted to buy these even though I absolutely don't need new skates right now. Not only because they look 😍 but also because they come in size 47. I feel obliged to buy everything that comes in 47 because it's so bloody rare in the aggressive market!
@JanWelch2 жыл бұрын
I was impressed by the size range! It may be easier to make happen with a carbon skate then a plastic one.
@ReaperDaddy2 жыл бұрын
maybe try them out first cause they say 47 but in US size they say 12.5... Normally a proper 47 is 13, and this "half" size difference kinda always bad conclusions on my side (Im also a size 13 who struggle to find skates)

Great video as always. Very concise. Were you planning on telling us how they feel when you put them on to skate or did you plan on putting the skates on right after the unboxing to give us your impressions on the fit and feel? Can’t wait to see you skate these skates! I wanna see a Jan Welch skate edit for sure 🙏

Incredible looking skate. It's cool they've added a dampener sheet on those USD VII souls as well! I think that's gonna become the new done thing. The one thing that I really can't get past with this skate is the carbon cuff. I always find I want as much flex as possible and a carbon cuff feels like the antithesis of that. So I'm very interested to hear how you get on with them.
@JanWelch2 жыл бұрын
I also like the dampener sheet. As far as the cuff goes, I will let you know how it feels. I went from skating skate almost unbuckled in the 90s sometime for extra flex, so this will be interesting for sure.
@NOIS_inks2 жыл бұрын
@@JanWelch I think the carbon will give great support even with it a little loose that’s why a lot of liners lace up now so you get that support but you can keep the cuff loose enough to get a finger in with ease and you should be able to squat without being wobbly.

Damn thats a very sick boot. I just got my Seba CJ2 primes with intuition premium liner and i gotta say i am very impressed mostly with the very stiff hard tongue. Most responsive skate ive ever experienced but if this boot turns out to be an even better choice i might upgrade next year. It just looks so good :D Im a sucker for fancy skate setups. Thanks for the first impressions
@JanWelch2 жыл бұрын
I will try and get more into some details I may have missed in the video where I do the side-to-side comparison with the ag20, but yea they are overall pretty sick, and as soon as I make that video.

I bet we will see a lot of big wheel / wizard skaters try out this new iqon boot. Nice to see a new boot with a flat bottom , competition is allways good.

@@afusake Sadly i got into rollerblading very late at the age of 33. So i decided to jump into big wheel blading instantly i feel like aggresive skating is a bit too risky haha. But ive allready made some nasty falls anyway but mostly scrapes and bruises nothing major. Rollerblading is such a huge part of my life now and i love every second of it.

The skates really do look great. Is the cuff a little higher than Carbons you think?

do the souls only mount with the UFS bolts? never been a fan of that.
@JanWelch2 жыл бұрын
Yes the frame only mounts with the UFS bolts out of the box, but the soul plates do have some other predrilled holes where I am assuming you can future attach them if you wanted to drill holes n the carbon. :)
@nathantylermoore2 жыл бұрын
@@JanWelch sounds riskyyyy, thanks Jan! Also when you do the AG20 let us know if those are pre drilled for the soul plate mounts please

@JanWelch2 жыл бұрын
I’ve been skating the ag10 almost every day but with the wizard pr80 frames. I think they make the perfect wizard setup with the carbon cuff. I use the ag20 for my aggressive setup with Oysius frames
@jeremyfitnfun2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jan, great video! I find it's a good looking skate, but thanks to you dismounting the skate, I realise it is just a USD VII soulplate screwd onto a USD VII mold, even though it has a carbon fiber bedding instead of plastic. I'd say only the carbon cuff is the real difference from a "usual" Powerslide skate. I'm not sure it's worth that much money to be fair. There is not much innovation to justify such a high price in my opinion. Hopefully they feel much better. Looking forward to your test video.
@JanWelch2 жыл бұрын
I've never had or examined a USD VII so I can't say for sure if it's pretty much the same. I will definitely examine them more in the AG20 vs AG10 comparison video and the test videos that will follow.
@aldolega2 жыл бұрын
It's not a VII boot mold. It's basically just the USD Carbon with a removable liner and the VII soulplate. The AG20 is the same but it's the USD Carbon Free boot.

Is iqon another powerslide company?
@JanWelch2 жыл бұрын
Iqon is part of disroyal, which is a separate distribution owned by the same person who owns Powerslide. We go into it in the Mathias Knoll podcast on this channel.
@Boelie16222 жыл бұрын
Looks nice but I don’t think carbon is the right material for aggressive skating, not enough flex and it can brake. Plus the skate looks exact like USD carbons, just a different label on them. Not worth the money imo.
@JanWelch2 жыл бұрын
I've never been on a USD carbon so I can' say for sure if it's the same or not. But I'll keep everyone posted on how the carbon handles my falls. :)

Gorgeous skate, but for such a high end product the packaging blows. Imagine buying an iPhone and it was presented in a plain cardboard box.
