Iran's Presidential Election Heads to Runoff
শেষ হয়েছে ইরানের প্রেসিডেন্ট নির্বাচনের প্রথম ধাপের ভোট গ্রহণ। এরই মধ্যে গণনাও শেষ। নির্বাচন কমিশনের তথ্য অনুসারে, দুই প্রার্থীর মধ্যে হাড্ডাহাড্ডি লড়াই হলেও কেউই প্রেসিডেন্ট হওয়ার জন্য ৫০ শতাংশের বেশি ভোট পাননি। তবে ভোট গণনা শেষে দেখা গেছে-ইরানের সর্বোচ্চ নেতা আয়াতুল্লাহ আলী খামেনির সমর্থনপুষ্ট সাঈদ জালিলির চেয়ে মধ্যপন্থী হিসেবে পরিচিত মাসুদ পেজেশকিয়ান এগিয়ে আছেন।

যারা বাদ গেছে তারাও খামেনিন্থী এমন না যে সব ভোট মাসুদ পেয়ে গেছে নেক্সট রাউন্ডে মাসুদ হেরে যাবে! মানুষ ভুলের উর্ধ্বে নয়, কখনো কখনো অতি বিচক্ষণ ব্যক্তিরও ভুল হয়, হতে পারে। তার প্রমাণ খামেনী, আহমাদি নেজাদ নিজের দেশে এবং বিশ্বময় তুমুল জনপ্রিয় একজন মানুষ সেই সাথ কট্টরপন্থী। তাকে বাদ দেওয়ায় খামেনীর উচিত হয়নি! উনি থাকলে মাসুদ এত ভোট পেতো না! আমি জালিলির জয়ের জন্য প্রার্থনা করি কিন্তু অতটা অগ্রহ নিয়ে নিউজ দেখিনা, আহমাদি নেজাদ থাকলে আরোও আরোও বেশি বেশি দোয়া করতাম! আমার মা বয়স্ক মানুষ উনিও আহমাদি নেজাদের ভক্ত! আহমাদি নেজাদের সাধারণ জীবনযাপন ও সততার জন্য!
