It just makes me so disgusted whenever I see that video of Ms. Emma Groves... shot by a Brit Para through the window of her home with a plastic bullet right in the face... she was blinded permanently as a result.... her daughter screaming & so distraught having witnessed her mother being brutally shot in the face... what enraged me the most was how all those British soldiers just stood around looking on as that poor woman was bleeding profusely not one of them gave a damn or lifted a hand to help the woman showing no care or concern...

"when it comes to fighting like soldiers, they're not good at that" Oh really, buddy? You mean to tell me that under-equipped civilians aren't going to get into a pitched battle with one of the world's foremost conventional military powers? You mean they won't stand in a line in front of your tanks and choppers for a "fair" shootout? Gee, I wonder why not. Oh, and there is no such thing as an "off duty soldier" when you're part of an illegal regime violently occupying someone else's land. If you're a foreign soldier criminally occupying another country, you don't get to be the victim because you took your fatigues off. 🙄

It was an operation asked for by the democratically elected government in NI, and most of the population wants stay in the UK, let alone when this was filmed. This argument is just used to justify atrocities, "we had to kill civilians with bombs because we didn't have the funding" despite the hundreds of guns and bombs flooding into the PIRA. Not only that but the "occupation" was surrported by Ireland itself during the civil war, with anti-treaty forces losing

Algeria was the French Northern Ireland A country that France owned through colonisation During the 50's there was the same amount of bloodshed from both sides. The French eventually defeated the FLN but De Gaulle knew that it was pointless to keep Algerie as a part of France. A million "pieds noirs" the original French settlers, moved back to France, realising, eventually, that Algeria was not French. England must accept the same facts

Gusty Spence @10:45" for UVF activities suffice to say" On 7 May 1966, a group of UVF men led by Spence petrol bombed a Catholic-owned pub on the Shankill Road. Fire also engulfed the house next door, killing the elderly Protestant widow, Matilda Gould (77), who lived there.[18] On 27 May, Spence ordered four UVF men to kill an Irish Republican Army (IRA) member, Leo Martin, who lived on the Falls Road. Unable to find their target, the men drove around in search of any Catholic instead. They shot dead John Scullion (28), a Catholic civilian, as he walked home.[19] Spence later wrote "at the time, the attitude was that if you couldn't get an IRA man you should shoot a Taig, he's your last resort".[19] On 26 June, the same gang shot dead Catholic civilian Peter Ward (18) and wounded two others as they left a pub on Malvern Street in the lower Shankill.[18] Two days later, the government of Northern Ireland used the Special Powers Act to declare the UVF illegal.[18] Shortly after, Spence and three others were arrested.[20]

I am making this comment at 5.37 on this video, I am assuming this was around 1988 (I was 23 then) At that point I started to research "The Irish Question" ... anyone with an objective outlook would come the conclusion of British Colonial manipulation and mismanagement ... I say this as a person from a mixed marriage (Mum catholic, Dad protestant) in Liverpool England. The British Upper Class Establishment enforced partition, actively disregarding the catholic/nationalist people in the Six Counties of employment housing and social progression/mobility, in stark contrast to the protestant unionist people. On seeing The Civil Rights marches in the U.S. the nationalist catholic people in the six counties used the same actions for equal rights within the six counties. The established ruling Protestant Unionist structures of the six counties did everything to undermine the movement ... When "Bloody Sunday" happened That was the turning point for The I.R.A. I did not and do not support the I.R.As violent actions, although I understand how and why the I.R.A. became The Major Factor ... Where we are Now is a consequence of violence, politics and diplomacy ... we all have to recognize the massive actions of John Hume as he was the Fulcrum and Catalyst who got us to where we are now! I have No Doubt that within 20 years from now we will have a 32 County Irish Republic!.

I knew gusty Spence after he was released for killing kevin ward in 1966, his arguments about taking an oath against enemies foreign and domestic sound plasable until you understand the IRA weren't active in 1966 and all he murdered was a teenager bar sever who was just a catholic not a member of the IRA at that point it's just a sectarian killing commited in a time of peace. The first bomb let off was silent water resovoir hy uvf, loyalist, first policeman killed constable Arbuckle killed by uvf , first civilian and first child were killed by uvf first homes burnt conway and Bombay street burnt by uvf and Ruc that's the police. Im not Roman Catholic i was raised by Irish republican Presbyterians protestant old United Irishmen family Never hated Catholics. I'd ask gusty this is Roman catholism a domestic enemy and why did you kill ward a teenager with no military training, not a member of a political party,, just a kid working in a bar wanting to go home see his girlfriend. Did gusty feel brave that night being a British soldier dragging him out with two accomplices and shooting him that night? I think that happened that night because of sectarian hate not defending the crown? Im glad to say that other protestants did share gustys views best IRA O.C (officer commanding), we ever had on fall's road was Ivor Bell a Presbyterian who didn't hate Catholics and fought for equality of all.
