I just started iRacing at the end of June and I’m already up to C class in series Formula now in early July. Completely stopped playing all other devs racing sims this is the one to dedicate your time too. I now have a Fanatec DD clubsport F1 rig.

Nice video! Been iRacing on and off since 2017 and am starting to get my feet wet in sports cars (I come from the asphalt oval scene). Also... downloading overlays for iRacing can help identify dangerous drivers as well. You can set them up to display other drivers' iRating and more importantly safety rating.

Well done video. I call myself a new old guy and I just started a couple of months ago. I managed to get a D license but seem to spend all my time in practice chasing the times of the fast guys like you mentioned. However making one banzai lap is very different than racing in a crowd. Now it's time to learn how to race.

I find Rookies at the weekend is a demolition derby. But like you say identifying dangerous drivers and let them through works well..

If you plan to take racing seriously for the forseeable future, you should definitely look at some mid range pedals with a loadcell. It will change your braking game and your life. It definitely has done that for me. I went for the CSL elite V2 pedals. There are a lot of options for decent sets these days. It will take you time to get used to it, but your braking confidence will go through the roof (if you set the pedal correctly, lots of guides on youtube. I used Boosted Media guide). I think I gained like over a second or more per lap after 14 days and kept improving my technique over the year I have it now. Just dont go for the hardest feeling brake right off the bat if you get an adjustable elastomer stack. You can learn trailbraking on potentiometer brake as well, but it takes a lot more effort and focus to do well. Before I went to a loadcell, every braking zone felt like stepping into mud, not knowing what will happen next. nice recap of your season. I hope to see more of the GT4 stuff from you.

Thank you so much for the advice on pedals! My pedals are starting to show some glitches, so I'm looking for an upgrade. I had my eye on some Thrustmaster T LCM pedals, but for a little extra money I could get the CSL V2's as well. Do you think I need some sort of rig to hold these pedals, or can I rest them against the wall? I'm curious how different the feel is compared to the G923 pedals... Awesome to hear you found a ton of speed with them! More GT4 content coming soon! 😁✌🏻

@@RedBeardRacingRBR the quality of T-LCM pedals is only worth going for if you need to stay in one brand ecosystem for consoles. It looks flimsy. A buddy of mine talked me out of them when I was first looking around. I had T300RS GT and that felt like an affordable set for it. But I dont do console. With Loadcells, it is definitely a good idea to get at least some sturdy half rig (probably not the foldable tube rigs, they are pretty flimsy). Bolting it down and having everything in the same place every time can make it easier to be consistent with inputs and seating position. Also I feel that the pedals could just pivot around the base if not mounted. When you use the proper braking technique and lift the heel off the plate when braking to have better control over force application and release and less strain on your ankle and calf, using your stronger thigh muscles Me, I dont have room for a full stand-alone rig with a seat, so I went for NLR Wheelstand 2.0 that can accommodate an office chair with the included cradle. I put it close to my table and have my display on a display arm that I can pull forward and close to the rig. It is not perfect positioning, but I can deal. For portability I got their set of lockable castor wheels, but it made the rig higher and slightly less stable. I am a tall boy (193cm) and my pedal plate is about as far back as it can go, that is making the rig pivot around the rear wheels when I brake hard. I got into a bad habit of holding my wheel tight and pulling the rig down. I had to jury-rig an upgrade with a 5Kg weight attached on the front side below my legs to balance it out better. I dont know how different it will be for you, compared to the logitech pedals, I had the thrustmaster ones. The main difference is the way the braking is applied. No longer distance based with some resistance at the end of the travel, but fully force based. with quite a bit less travel overall.

@@Django45 The NLR wheelstand 2.0 looks like it might fit my simracing space. I'll have to measure it though. Maybe I can fit it underneath my desk, if I lift my desk haha. I'm also very space limited. It's also probably for the better to mount load cell pedals on a rig. I hope you'll get a dedicated sim room in the future! That's what I'd like to have one day! Thanks for the suggestion! 😁
