Just mentioning at 3:25 in druid's you shift down into 3rd, but that isn't shown in your gear indicator :)

Hello, I try all diferent settings but I dont see the shadows here: 1:41. And I cant find another braking reference. How can i torn on the shadows? Thanks for the help.

The shadows are created by the sun which is simulated accordingly depending on the time of day. When the session time is different it's possible that there are no shadows on the track at all. Also, since iRacing simulates the sky, they will move over the course of a session. They will even move between practice sessions and race sessions cause the times are always different. That's why I always ignore them and look instead at the track itself, and the way the white line bends to have a reference point for braking. Shadows are too unreliable in iRacing.

this is great, but i keep losing the back end when i go over the kerbs.

Which kerbs? My best guess would be that you are overdriving the car on the entries, but it's hard to tell without actually seeing what you do and how you drive. We've an #advice-and-feedback channel over on Discord, where you can share your recorded lap to receive detailed feedback/suggestions about your driving.

A lot of thanx for this, for newbies like me this is a huge help. I dont know why, but i cant have the ghost. I go into test drive, load the blap, choose compare lap, click on the "reference car", but nothing. The time is working well, im so slow compared to you, but the ghost just doesnt apear. :S.

Did you check the #faq channel on the Discord server? There's a short guide which mentions everything important that you need to set up/select. I've just loaded the file into my sim to check it and it's working, so it has to be one of your settings. Please double check if you've selected the reference car as your active split time delta, this is the most common oversight. The active split time delta is the black box on your screen which comes together with a green/red bar in the middle-top of the screen. You can set your best session times, best all-time times or the reference car as reference time there. The ghost only shows up if you pick the reference car. I hope any of that helps! Should you still struggle then you can always ask in a channel on Discord

@@crexLive OMG. A lot of thanks for this faster response than the car lap xD. For all the other news, the ghost doesnt apear in the first lap... xD. I thought that the ghost appears from the first lap... Thank you again for all your work

Good grief. I have never even been under 1.40 for this track after hours of practice. Makes me want to throw in the towel when it comes to road racing. Probably just me though I tend to get easily frustrated when the effort to reward ratio starts to get to far out of whack

1) It becomes easier the longer you are "in the game". In the beginning you're also learning a lot of fundamentals and basics, the further you progress the easier it will become to learn new tracks or cars because you learn to apply the same fundamentals. You can always submit a recorded lap on Discord to gather feedback from the community, this can help and be a shortcut since you get some feedback from outside the box. 2) It's frustrating for all of us. What keeps "us" in is the rewarding feeling of finishing a great lap or race. Something that helped me in my early days was to say f*k it, and just race as soon as I felt confident with keeping the car on track. iRacing has a big playerbase and a great matchmaking. It doesn't matter how quick you are, you can always gather some small or big wins in official races. Hope that helps or offers some new perspectives. If not, it's totally okay to dislike something and race ovals or other classes. At the end of the day you should spend your free time with something you enjoy =)

I just started a few weeks ago and was really struggling as I'd never even played a racing game let alone a sim. The thing that helped me learn a bunch of fundamentals a whole lot quicker was switching to Formula Vee. This week isn't the best week to do that though as I really don't enjoy the track this week. I found starting with the Vee really helped me get in some clean races as it's less populated (MX-5 in Rookies was insane. I hated every minute of it) and the driving physics just seemed to make more sense to me. I also find the lower IR and SR players in Vee are just a lot more sane for some reason. Formula Vee on Laguna Seca is a blast. That track taught me so much. Good luck!
