Just got into Iracing from NR2003, I've been running 15.6 sometimes 15.8 so I'm really glad there's a handy guide for turn in points and brake application. I'm really more concerned with my SR right now but some time I'd like to actually race this sucker

Couldn't get under 17.5 and wrecking a lot. Watched this video once and got down to 16.5 and half as many wrecks. Then i Liked and Subscribed and now I'm under 15.9 with no wrecks.

Thanks! It can be worth it at some tracks. At this one, if you are careful with your throttle and don’t let the car slide out too much on exit, you’ll be faster over the run than people that do. Keeping the right rear healthy is key. It may also help to turn up your tire sounds a bit so you can hear when the tires are really crying out in pain over the engine sounds.

You’ll get it dude! They may have tweaked the setup or tire model since I made this guide which will make the car feel pretty different. A couple things to check for that can cause an understeer situation: 1) Make sure to not turn the wheel too much. There will be a point where turning the wheel more won’t equal more turning. If that’s happening, the tires are being pushed passed their limit. Try to put in no more steering than you need. 2) Picking up the throttle again too early can cause this. In cases where the front wheels are being over turned + picking up the throttle too early, it can make the ends of the car work against each other leading to a feeling of no turning or drive off. 3) Entering the corner too fast can give you the same feeling. If you turn in and the car just will not stay in the lane you’re aiming for, try a slower entry speed or change up your braking. I’ve found that trying to brake hard and late sometimes causes issues. Try braking a little bit sooner and will a little less pressure if possible. Good luck!

Man i wish i knew what i was doing wrong. I can not hit 15.4 at all. The closest i have gotten was a 15.6, and on average, without traffic, i can only hit 15.8.

This is a very basic tutorial. His entry and exit is totally wrong. Good just to get a feel for it. But if you want to compete in a top split you will run last with this. My Q times are around 14.8 to 14.9. Q lap run up high and cut down to apex full throttle. He enters corner way to early and very slow back on throttle. But very good tutorial for a beginner

Thanks for the corrections. I’m sure this guide is really outdated by now. When I made this one, I checked the leaderboards at the start of the week to make sure I could match or beat the fastest Q laps but since I couldn’t actually race in the series I had to do A.I races to get a feel for it. This was back when rookie street stocks was still limited to rookie and D license drivers.
