All their expensive play toys were taken out just as planned by the use of cheap drones, they even had a 5 hours time to intercept them as they were in flight. Decoys leaving the missiles that got through were extremely effective. for along time Russia went along with the US and did not sell offensive weapons to Iran and actually refused to sell S400 SAM system as well. iran decided to go a different route and developed Asymetric Warfare got a lot of technology from North Korea and China . Iran did buy some soviet era cruise missiles and reversed engineer them and eventually upgraded them with guidence systems. they do have some S35's on Order from what I understand.
