Iran president helicopter crash: Raisi dies, election set | LiveNOW from FOX

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi died after his helicopter crashed in poor weather conditions near the Azerbaijan border.
The helicopter was also carrying Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahin and six other passengers.
Vice President Mohammed Mokhber will take over as interim president, according to the official IRNA news agency.
"I announce five days of public mourning and offer my condolences to the dear people of Iran," Supreme Leader Khamenei said in a statement.
Iran media reported the Bell 212 helicopter slammed into a mountain peak, the cause of the crash has not been determined.

Indian chief of defense staff died in a helicopter crash in 2021 with similar circumstances. The helicopter was Russian made military helicopter named mi17. The weather was very bad. The helicopter that carried the Iranian president has such a good reputation and has only one notable accident. Bell 212 helicopter is originally a US made helicopter.
