Iran ready to defend itself

The Iranian ambassador to South Africa, Mansour Shakib Mehr says Iran has the capacity to defend itself.
Speaking to the SABC after meeting the ANC's International Relations and Cooperation subcommittee, Shakib Mehr thanked the South African government for supporting Palestine.
He says Iran wants to avoid the expansion of war in the Middle East.
Meanwhile, the ANC says it is important for countries that are in conflict in the Middle East to de-escalate the tensions.
