The airplane on display was a prototype in smaller size. The picture of airplane in the air was published by an Iranian magazine with intent to make it look majestic on background of sky and mountain, not an official picture. Iran should not have shown this fighter until it was fully operational but they did because of anniversairy of revulotion. Airplane is under test and when it is fully airborne, it will be shown again.

I along with the rest of the world would be highly surprised, a ton goes into building a new fighter jet, especially a 5th Gen one, and my time spent around such aircraft makes me very doubtful, coupled with the fact that they have never built there own (the Saeqeh is merely a US built F5 Tigershark with twin tails added) But who knows

Everyone knows it is fake, especially those of us who have worked in the aerospace industry. What is pathetic is they try to pawn it off as real with the fake video etc. Iran has a collection of outdated US and Soviet built aircraft and then suddenly comes up with a 5th Gen fighter? Lack of afterburner on the engine, the F4 joystick, no room for weapons bays, stubby wings are a dead giveaway, and the "avionics" are absolute icing on the cake when it comes to ridiculing this joke of an aircraft.
