To be a Jew is try to understand and appreciate the many kind and creative cultures of the world .To be a Jew is to be deeply moved by the beauty others create , until the spirit of others infuses the Jew and he himself bursts forth playing and dancing , transformed into the people of that culture and creatively lovingly contributing to that culture. Let each of us be open to and shaped by the goodness and creativity of those around us and may others find goodness and creativity in us. @kithp I'm converting to Orthodox Judaism and went to a Persian synagogue for awhile and want to convert with their customs, but do you know Persian Orthodox synagogues that have a rabbi that will sponsor conversion in US? Since you said you married into a Persian Jewish family, I figured I'd ask you because maybe you converted to Judaism, too.

@Joy-Simcha5 ай бұрын
@@BittzenIf you are really sure about converting (as there’s no obligation for such a thing in our religion) and you want to follow Persian Jewish customs then speak with a Sephardi Rabbi and ask them for guidance. The Persian Jews used to be very closed to other Jewish cultures like Ashkenazi or North African Jews. Maybe over the years they have become more tolerant and open minded about newcomers…

My Muslim aunt Fatemeh was a gig agent for Jewish music bands that lived and worked in the Jewish neighborhood ( mahaleh-e-Juhuda) of Tehran, and sometime played the role of the drummer (Dunbar Zan) in bands. The patrons for these bands were largely Muslim families. Her son (my cousin, Ibrahim) was a devote Muslim and the custodian of the local mosque. Everything worked, and people were in harmony in spite of the contradictions Then the Islamic Revolution happened and the humanity was lost, all in the name of religion.

Iranian Jews have long served Iran's traditional music and some of the greatest masters of Iranian music were Kilimi (Jews). Like Asnathad Nasrallah Zarin Panje, born and died in Tehran, 1905-1981, and Master Morteza Nei Dawood, born in Tehran in 1900 and died in San Francisco in 1990, Master Nei Dawood is the creator of the song Murgh Sahar (1927), which after nearly a century is still the most famous song in the music genre. It is a traditional protest song of Iran and it is sung collectively in many protests. May they be remembered. ❤❤❤❤

The Lord of the Universe who reigned before anything was created. When all was made by his will He was acknowledged as King. And when all shall end He still all alone shall reign. He was, He is, and He shall be in glory. And He is one, and there's no other, to compare or join Him. Without beginning, without end and to Him belongs diminion and power. And He is my G-d, my living G-d. to Him I flee in time of grief, and He is my miracle and my refuge, who answers the day I shall call. To Him I commit my spirit, in the time of sleep and awakening, even if my spirit leaves, G-d is with me, I shall not fear.
