I agree with you. Because of the pauses, they only realized in the middle of the song that it was performed in English... It's like listening to a set of notes, not a song. The emotional component was not caught at all either in the first reaction or in this one. And how to do it in this mode? One good thing is that at least they have switched to English.

It’s obvious you guys are great musicians of talent that you capture every sound , every melody of the song & music but may I suggest to pause the performance every other 6 instead of every half or 1 second to avoid frequent interruptions thus distractions. Your feedback on Dimash talent is exceptional so slow down with the interruptions of the performance. And you are funny as well , made me laugh🤣Thank you 👍

It's Kazakh music, the folk instrument is a Kobyz, a traditional bowed instrument with a 5,000 year history played expertly by Olzhas Qurmanbek. He is one of Dimash's closest friends and yes, Dimash's name is Qudaibergen sometimes written with a K, Kudaibergen, to help people pronounce it. This song is a collaboration between Dimash and Igor Krutoy. Please read the description box below the original video for all the details. Not his first song in English he has many more. His first released song in English was Screaming in 2019.

Interestingly, Dimash can actually somewhat do a Tremolo with his own voice. Its so amazing to hear. Qudaibergen is an alternate spelling to Kudaibergen so is pronounced the same. He also didnt use whistle voice in this 🤣.

I just love you guys! Your English is so good! And your music knowledge is refreshing. Is Dimash an angel? That is the question. The 'piano player' is Igor Krutoy, who composed the song. He is a world famous Russian composer who came out of retirement just to compose songs for Dimash. You guys are delightful to watch. Greetings from Phoenix, Arizona! (Oh! Watch Dimash's official music video of 'One Sky' - you won't believe a human is singing it in certain parts. But of course it is Dimash singing the entire 13 minutes).

To be more precise, Igor Krutoy was born and raised in the Soviet Union. He studied in Nikolaev, then in Saratov, lived in Leningrad, Moscow. Collaborates with performers from different countries and nationalities. He is a People's Artist of both Russia and Ukraine. But a huge part of his activity is connected with Russia, which is probably why he is called the composer of Russia. I agree that it is incorrect to call him Russian by nationality, as well as Ukrainian, because he is from a Jewish family.

Who is Dimash? Beginning his singing career at age 5, Dimash is known for his wide vocal range, spanning 6 octaves, 5 semitones ("A1" [11] - "D8" [12]) (the "la" of the controctave is the "re" of the fifth octave). Its range extends from the top of the bass register to the highest notes of the coloratura soprano and whistle register. His first digital music album "ID" went platinum only in 37 seconds after releasing and 3x platinum only in one hour and 5x platinum only in one day on Chinese music platform. Dimash sings in 14 languages, plays 7+ music instruments, is a composer, an amazing vocalist, patriot, philanthropist and a very warm and humble person. In December 2019, he made his US debut in New York at the Barclays Center. His concert sold out in 10 minutes on LiveNation! Dears (those he calls his fans) traveled from 68 different countries & 43 states & 2 US territories & it was sold out.

Where have you been! Under a Rock!? 🤣 The 'Piano Man' wrote this song. He is the very famous Russian Composer; Igor Krutoy, who came out of retirement to write especially for the unique voice of Dimash. (After all - who else on the planet could sing this?). Igor has written many famous pieces for and with many famous singers. Lara Fabian for just one. He has also adapted many of his and Lara's well know songs for Dimash's voice; see: Love is Like A Dream etc. The very first piece he wrote for Dimash was 'Olympico' {Make sure you see the live original version first - not fan cam! } for the Opening Ceremony of the 2019 European Games. But this is a new composition., written in collaboration with Dimash. Dimash presented 3 new songs to the 2021 Sochi Young Performers Competition. Stranger - Ave Maria ( with Igor's arrangement )and also Fly Away. Dimash was a Guest Judge there.. # Listen -your reactions are fun - but you are 'talking over' the best bits. Whenever you pause to discuss, you should step the clip back a few seconds to maintain the flow of the performance. # Also Dimash's fans do appreciate when Reactors actively / verbally direct viewers to subscribe to Dimash's original site -as well as their own. To any original artist in fact. Not just include in their links. # DQ are Dimash's initials - the K was the English version. You will see on his site and his own brand ear pieces! # Western & other viewers wonder why the Audience doesn't leap about and shout. This is a cultural thing in much of Eastern Europe. They believe it's disrespectful to leap about and shout and draw attention away from the artist and to themselves. Good point! Quiet clapping is the norm. Dimash introduced the Kazakh KOBYZ, the instrument that you see here, which, as you recognised, is one of a family of very ancient traditional stringed instruments from the Asian and Middle Eastern regions. Traditionally, in Kazakhstan and related regions, it was only Shamans / Medicine men who were allowed to play this instrument - because it's sound was believed so powerful it could drive away evil spirits and heal the sick. And... Yes the 'poor choir' (who are actually the contestants in this competition - so this is a GREAT performance experience for them! } not only have to sing, but also walk in formation AND hold LIVE Candles (not LED) AND keep them alight. That's hard work! BIG applause to the Choir too. 👋👋👋 # Pay attention to the Lyrics. Dimash is a Storyteller. Many of his songs have Humanitarian messages. In this piece he uses his many voices to draw attention to the plight of the many, and ever increasing numbers of Displaced People around the world. Forced out of their homes by various trauma's and having to start a whole new life - with nothing - as Strangers in Strange New Lands. You can hear the voices of men, women, young and old, and even the vaguely Arabic sounding high child like cries.

That is the premiere of this song at the New Wave in 2021. Maestro Igor Krutoy and Dimash Qudaibergen have created the really unique song in English with enchanting oriental melodies. “It was Dimash’s talent that inspired me to write this song, his immense vocal abilities and his desire to sing for a large international audience... I don’t see anyone else who could perform this piece in such a way”. - Krutoy said. (dimashnews) A Dear hits the nail on the head with this statement: “These are the voices of the world singing the tragedy of human migration forced by tragic circumstances.” At the piano Igor Krutoy (Krutoy means 'Cool', *1954 in Ukraine SSR). He lives and works in Moscow/ Russia. He is singer, a world- famous composer and music titan in Russia (billionaire). His family is in the US now. Krutoy came out of retirement to write songs for Dimash. The maestro and Dimash have been working together from time to time since 2018. They are friends and have a father-son relationship. Dimash said also in an interview about the collaboration with Igor Krutoy that it is important to him that the songs are written in such a way that there is room for variations ... so every performance of a song is a surprise and every Dear can choose his favorite presentation... I can not decide. The lyrics were written by Mary Sharon Vaughn (*1947, American musician, songwriter and producer. She writes hits for famous singers around the world, including Lara Fabian) * Premiere at the New Wave 2021 (Russia): Stranger - kzbin.info/www/bejne/onfWc2h-i9OgiaM * Here, the often forgotten unique, spectacular, different version in China: Stranger - Shine! Super Brothers 2021 (China) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/qpnFmJtmpq6mmas * 2022 Stranger, Give Me Your Love, Be With Me, The Story of One Sky, Give Me Love, Adai - kzbin.info/www/bejne/fWSVkomrh6x6o6c

This bowl-neck lute played with a bow is is an old Turkic stringed instrument and called Kobys, Qobyz or Kylkobyz in Kazakhstan. The Kyrgyz variant, for example, is called the kyl-kyyak. The Kobys is the oldest string instrument in the world and, according to a German scientist, it spread beyond the borders of the nomadic area of Central Asia and became the mother (prototype) of all European string instruments. (Turkic means: The Turkic peoples are a collection of ethnic groups from Central, East, North and West Asia as well as parts of Europe and North Africa who speak Turkic languages. Difference between Turkic and Turkish - kzbin.info/www/bejne/hqLbmad4msiJm8k ) A legend about Kobyz says that this instrument was created by the great steppe narrator Korkyt-Ata, who lived in the 10th century and that the tool is charged with magical and even mystical properties and sounds like animal voices. In addition, the Kazakh people believed that the spirits of their ancestors spoke to them through this music. The old outlook and piety towards their instruments and music was constantly preserved in traditional Kazakh society and ensured the highest spiritual level of musical art and a special respectful attitude towards musical instruments. Simple people, for example, did not dare to touch the shaman's Kobyz. It is said: The balance between the courses of life and death on earth can be maintained by playing the Kobyz.

Thank you for your reaction in English! Stranger is an epic song with touches of medieval, Gregorian and even a march together. I love Dimash’s different voice textures specially the Middle East vibes in those riffs and runs 🎤❤️🔝🎼👏👏 Igor Krutoy said “It was Dimash’s talent that inspired me to write this song, his immense vocal abilities and his desire to sing for a large international audience. Franky, I don’t see anyone else who could perform this piece in such a way” The gentleman playing the Kobyz is master Olzhas Qurmanbeck, the best player in Kazakhstan 🎻🔝 The Kobyz is the first stringed instrument ever. Kobyz is an ancient tool of the Kazakh people. It was used in ancient times by steppe shamans-healers for various rites. Kobyzy is made from a single piece of wood. This is one of the oldest ways of making musical instruments in the history of mankind. It is not due to technical backwardness or the lack of metal devices. According to the ancient beliefs of many people, only in a single piece will the living singing soul of the tree remain, which will sound in the instrument. The open body and strings of the kobyz from a bunch of 30-60 untwisted horse hair give a very thick, overtone-rich timbre. 🔝🔝

The way I found to celebrate the majesty of Dimash's talent was to have written the following about him: If I were to rule the world, I would immediately add, to the universal declaration of human rights, another article (they would become 31) whose wording would next "All human beings have the right, at least once in their lives, to hear Dimash sing". I am a Professor and I believe that I have a special profession that allows me to transform the human heart and consequently the human society. I work with young people and young people need to have good references. I had been looking for someone for a long time, of whom I could speak to the young people I work with, as a good reference. That person should be young, a super talent, a super mega star in the art world and above all, because he is the most important, a good human person. I searched and never found anyone with these characteristics. Until, finally, I found this person and that person is Dimash. I had the opportunity to say this to Dimash, personally, when I was with him in Latvia where I went, coming from Portugal (there are 8000 km round trip), on the 7th of March 2020. With friendship Rui Baptista

Thank you so much for speaking english, I loved your "SOS" reaction, but I didn`t understand anything and there were no subtitles 😄 But your video was so much fun, and I hoped you would make a future video with subtitles. Big surprise, not just subtitles, but you actually spoke english and I could understand everything and I had so much fun 😄So, thank you for the english video, you guys are soooo funny 😄 Instrument in the video : qobyz - ancient kazakh instrument. Next reaction : "Olimpico" : kzbin.info/www/bejne/mpyzhGmqbZmknZY (set auto-translate of subtitles to any language you want, english, persian etc). Beautiful encouraging song. Baritone to soprano in an unrelenting climb over a driving beat of drums. Subscribed since 'SOS' video 😁👍

What a pleasure it is to hear you guys give an Iranian musician's perspective on "Stranger". First of all you guys are a lot of fun. Second, you know music theory. Third, you clarified that this song has strains of Persian melody running through it. I knew it sounded Middle Eastern, and sections sound like a call to prayer of a muezzin. Thanks for a great reaction. (Subscribed and thumbs up.)
