My only question is in a situation how fast can you get to your guns in them? In the beginning you did fumble some. Wouldn't a key or even a button be better? Overall amazing concept though

A simple concept, great for concealment but not so great in an emergency situation. Having to fumble with magnetic keys while under duress would only place you in more danger. Stick to a quick open safe and live to tell your neighbours what happened, or keep using the shelves and become a statistic on the local evening news. My two cents only. (From a survivor of an armed home invasion) PS - The boys who showed up at my door won't be showing up at any more doors... ever.

Ryan I live in Australia and on the contrary to popular belief we do own guns in Australia and including myself. Just no Autos and semi autos and no hand guns. There are very strict rules about owning and applying for licenses and permits to acquire here. You need a genuine reason to own a fire arm and guess what self defense is not a genuine reason. NO one in Australia is fearful of someone coming through the window in so sick of hearing the argument from Americans. You guys must be so scared thinking someone is around the corner from you who wants to shoot you and is about to come through the window while your sleeping .(does this actually ever happen in the USA coz it’s the bulls hit argument I hear all the time. And Ryan don’t ever talk to an Australian about there constitution because I can guarantee NONE of us know what’s in it.

It is called a gun collection, he collects guns because he loves them. He is talking in a way he is expecting armed people trying to get to his fucking bedroom. xD He is saying "they usually lay in corners" and "they always check your house for guns". He said that in the video. He is expecting someone to come and try to shoot him. If that's not paranoia.... xD I don't blame him for having guns. I don't care, let people have guns if they are reasonable. This gentleman, however, is not reasonable. He is completely paranoid. He repeatedly talks about HOW "they" are gonna invade his house and individual rooms. Not if... HOW... :D

Install shelves like these and other 'concealment' places around the home. Then buy a cheap yet sturdy looking gun safe & place it in a hidden yet obvious place such as in the corner of a closet. Store valuables in concealed places, leave gun safe empty. Thieves find the safe fairly easy, spend their time on it, nvr bother to look for other storage areas. Problem solved.

They would use time, but unless they find something, as he said, they'll be likely to take out their anger at your home. Maybe setting fire to it as they leave. Therefore give them heavy [cheap] replicas they can rush out with before police arrive. If you'd really screw them over, hide a gps-tracker in the stock, which activates if leaving the area.

Watching this video makes me furious that we haven't banned magnets yet. Who actually 'needs' a magnet today? You can't hunt with a magnet, and when our founding fathers created the second amendment, they did not intend on regular citizens having high capacity magnets that are capable of polarizing several rounds of magnetism per minute. In those days, they just had single-gravity magnets that took two minutes to re-magnetize. Assault magnets are capable of magnetizing too many people and thus need to be banned. It should not be legal for a teenager to be able to walk into any magnet store and walk out with a magnet that they can take to school and magnetize their classmates with. We've had 432 mass magnetisms in our schools in 2018 alone, and here's some guy talking about hiding magnets in his house to use against intruders. It's barbaric and it needs to stop.

And the panel opens up like those shelves drop down. To everyone in the comments calling Eric stupid, first, he owns a gun shop, second he is demonstrating the different kinds of shelves and capacity, and third there should be very few restrictions on law abiding citizens having the means to their own defence, no matter what they may think that is. Also, consider that crime is higher in states with stricter gun control. This video in no way displays the paranoia people are talking about.

Its a good idea but I think it can be executed better. I personally don't like how you have to get the magnets and put them both on before you can access the guns. when nano seconds count, the magnets might just be seconds away. in other words, what if it takes too long to go through that whole procedure? I guess it beats having to open a safe, but there's gotta be a quicker way. plus, I think totally custom/unique options would be the way to go because once something like this is mass produced and enough people have them, the gig is kinda up and it will be fairly common knowledge that these exist and people are using them. I don't know, just my thoughts on the matter.

They all have a tell tale give away. The circles on the bottom of the shelf where you set the magnets. As these become common knowledge outside of the gun community then they become targets. I have used something similar of my own design before but when I saw these hit the market I had to change my tactics. Just like the first time I saw the stair hiding place where the treads fold up to get to the guns. Saw it on youtube and fb had to change that in my house too.. My old refrigerator gun cabinet is now an ammo cabinet. I know you all want to make money or show your brilliance but a hiding place is only as good as the knowledge of that hiding place. How many crooks look for false books, hide a key rocks, and false electric plugs now?

I get that for many it's a hobby like anything else and there's definitely a cool factor to it but...it can come across as disturbing to some.

If "things get hectic" I highly doubt fiddling with some magnets in hopes of finding the right spots in a rush, in the middle of the night is gonna be very effective, I see these more as hidden stashes, not emergency deployment. Even if you carry the magnets around in your pockets all the time

Seriously, with that many guns in the house, it would be rather easy for a trained burglar to find out the hollows and crevices where one could hide things. What about the 180 degree approach? Hide them in Plain Sight? I mean, turn your house into a true magazine, with loads of racks with stacks of guns and ammo lying around... BUT they're all dummies! Only the owner knows where to find the one or two working and loaded guns. Example: the partly dismantled gun that looks like its being repaired while in fact it's like a Second Death Star and Fully Operational. Or: the mops that are neatly in the corner but which turns out to be a functional 5.56 AR after a paintjob and some added 'camo.'

AudieHolland Or invest in an armoured pick-up truck loaded with guns that's sitting in the basement. When under attack, retreat to the basement, blow out the (explosive) exit door and drive off to your wilderness hideout.

AudieHolland This is the funniest thing I've seen in a while. As good as that sounds, the robber or whoever might break in could just as easily toss around the mags and guns to figure out which are not loaded or real. But I guess at that point they would see all of them and just be like NOPE.

of course you can but the man likes guns, its his property and he has the constitutional right to have a arsenal if thats his pursuit of happiness. Does this represent all gun owners ? not likely but if i want to i should be able to :). Historically speaking i would think you would be a little more open to the idea of citizens owning firearms.

Im from Germany as well, but I dont think it hurts to have some weapons if you feel like it. I dont have any guns, but I support the right to to carry a firearm. ISIS, Hitler, Stalin, Mao etc all implemented gun controll laws, so I'm sceptical towards trusting the government. Btw the only time I ever felt extremely threatened was, when a police officer in Berlin near the Brandenburger Tor, thought it was a good idea to point his MP5 at my face during a standard police controll

Growing up our house was child proofed because my mom did daycare out of our house and we had the exact same magnet system with the same locking mechanism, so yes these are child proof up to a certain age, or just never open it when your kids are around.

So many comments. Firstly, “and you can hide yoooouuur weeeeed in there (SNL reference). Secondly, thank you for the cool content. Thirdly, when using this type system you have double and triple redundancy on your magnets. The factory style he is using in a specified place in the home, another set on your keys/phone/wallet...whatever is your edc, and another set that is also hidden in plain site on the shelf itself(bookends, books, trinkets, candles...use your imagination). Very clever stuff here.

Excellent video. I guess some people didn't hear you say that these were for CONCEALMENT not SECURITY. Still need a gun safe. I own a cabinet shop and we've addressed some of the concerns that folks have with the magnets. We make furniture with hidden compartments. No magnets. Just have to know where they are. Such as a headboard for your bed with a small sliding pane. Again for concealment only. l
