Dear old Ireland is slowly being turned into an open prison. Our Father's and Grandfather's wouldn't have stood for it. They were truly masculine men, something which is now considered "toxic". finally someone got their heads together by not covering up the stones walls. I have seen other renovations where the home owners have cover up the walls. All that beautiful history is gone but you are different. I hope other folks who want to do renos see your video and preserve the history of the buildings not only the outside but the in side of these wonderful homes. I hope you hang a picture of the past family who lived here at one time in your home. It would a nice tribute to the family.

@@jcakblade101 Toasty warm. We have a log burner that heats the radiators and hot water in the winter, we have solar to heat the water in the summer. The walls are 900mm thick so they absorb the heat from the sun drying the day and release it overnight. They also store the heat from the log burner and radiators overnight and release overnight. Colin the summer. They knew what they were doing 200 years ago when they built these kind of houses.

WOW!!!! Stunning to say the least. The only thing I saw that I would'av changed would have been to put in more windows. The rooms looked really dark. But, I like lots of light. Other than that, you did a fantastic job, it's beautiful.

Cheers Kathy, we have skylights on the rear of the roof so it’s a little deceptive from the video. Plenty of light really for a traditional dwelling - tried to keep it as authentic as possible from the front view but compromised from the rear. Glad u like x

What the Irish governement is NOT doing to preserve it's incredible cultural heritage is disgusting and criminel. I think that Ireland has some of the best historic architecture from the 17th century onwards, especially the 18th and they just sit back and watch it decay and rot. Good on you to have preserved something and I wish you long life in this lovely building.
