I just got back from a trip to Ireland. I LOVED THE CLIFFS OF MOHER!!
@BlueMantleFilms6 жыл бұрын
Radiation Nuke they're awesome, aren't they? I'm a bit jealous of you having been so recently! It's almost three years ago now since we went, and we want to go back so badly. Which areas did you visit, if you don't mind my asking?
@dylancurrier73636 жыл бұрын
I already want to go back. I was there for the band tour of Ireland (marching in the St.Patricks day parade in Dublin and the band competition at Limerick). I hope to go back soon and see the rest of the sights!! Are drone laws stick in Ireland? If I go back I defiantly want to take my drone with me.

While I was there I visited Dublin, Limerick, Belfast, The Cliffs of Moher, Glasnevin Cemetery, Trinity College, and Glendalough.

I'm jealous! I want to go back so bad. We've been talking for the last few months about where our next trip will be...we went to Ireland in 2015, and did a Europe roadtrip in 2017, so we're due this coming year for another trip. Even though there are so many places we could go (Scotland and the rest of the U.K. are a good possibility) we're still considering Ireland just because it's so awesome. What I need to do is convince one of my clients that they need some video in Ireland, so that I can do a trip there on someone else's dime. :-)

+Rachael flood I've said it elsewhere as well: I was undecided on the music at first, thinking the piece was too slow, but my wife encouraged me to use it, and I'm so glad I did. It definitely reflects our experience of the Irish countryside much more accurately than a dramatic or epic piece of music.

A very nice compilation. Been to many of those locations myself. Absolutely amazing stuff. I've also purchased myself a drone and first place I wanted to go see was Cliffs of Moher as you have in your video at 1:54. I've emailed the management at the cliffs and they've said that you can no longer fly drones within 2 km's of the cliffs as it's a reserved area under UNESCO protection for puffin birds nesting. Was so bummed to hear that :( But your clip is amazing, absolutely love it

Beautiful! You have a lot of scenes "looking backwards". It may create some "calming" feelings good for relaxation videos but I wonder if you could change the frame sequence to "looking forward" could it produce more dramatic/dynamic effect. Or going back and then forward. I like how you play with the speed accelerating/decelerating.
@BlueMantleFilms6 жыл бұрын
KOI a lot of that was the result of limitations of the drone...this was the Phantom 2 with a GoPro mounted on it, which was known for the propellors coming into the top of the image frequently. The workaround, for me, was to usually film flying backwards so the props would be pulled out of the shot, rather than if I were flying forward where the props would be pushed farther into the shot. Thanks for the feedback, though! I do try to mix things up a bit more.

I'm a German and have no genetic connection to Ireland ancestry wise, but when I first travelled there a few years ago I could feel the place was... Almost magical. A couple of years later I gave into my paining and travelled there again, and this time, the moment I stepped out of the plane in Kerry, I felt... Connected. I felt at home. What a truly beautiful place.
@BlueMantleFilms5 жыл бұрын
I know exactly what you mean by "felt at home". It's the same for us. We just feel like we're at home there. I've been to Ireland twice, and can't wait to go back again.
@muskrat4775 жыл бұрын
"Just remember, it's an easy place to be at home in, Ireland. I think the people are very skilled at relating. I notice, watching the different nationalities on the mountain, the fluidity of interaction the Irish people have with the visitors, and with each other. It's a skill that's less developed in other nationalities, and it's so instinctive it doesn't even look like a skill" - Pete Mccarthy, (Mccarthy bar)

That's Dunluce Castle in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. A very beautiful (and dramatic) place to visit. It's also pretty close to Carrick-a-Rede Bridge, which is the last shot of the video. If you're seeing one, I highly recommend driving the 20-ish minutes to see the other also. Carrick-a-Rede, though, does require about a 20-minute hike to get to, so be aware of that. So worth it, though. It's also close to Giant's Causway, which we drove near, but the closest free parking was about a kilometer away, and we only had an afternoon to explore Northern Ireland, so we prioritized Dunluce and Carrick-a-Rede.

@BlueMantleFilms9 жыл бұрын
Rendy Irwinsyah I used a BlurFix ND4/Circular Polarizer for most of the shots. Since it was cloudy most of the time I didn't want to use the ND8 because it would have made it too dark, I think. And using the Circular Polarizer allowed for pulling a little more contrast out of the image between the sky and the clouds.
