Ireland got absolutely ambushed, I'm shocked and awed by the display from The All Blacks. Going into this Ireland were cantering along like a V8 purring. no issues or stresses. All Blacks omg Lomax, de Groot, hows Retallick? etc. Today, two Titans came out, what a start. What a reply. 40 minutes = 1 point gap. The hits were comic like, with power runs and monster tackling, mixed with those moments of magic or displays of pure tenacity and a willingness to put everything on the line for their team, their country. Salute!

A cracking game! From an Englishman who’s part Irish I’m really proud of Ireland. Certainly played a lot better then us English would’ve done 😂 got to commend the ABs though their defence was just solid in the 2nd half and they really pounced on the opportunities. They were just too good but I’m bloody proud at the fight Ireland gave and how much they had the ABs on the ropes throughout the match. Sport is cruel especially when you have 2 of the top 4 in the world competing in a knockout so early.

As a South African fan I read sir Clive Woodward's comments about the end of the southern hemisphere and a all northern hemisphere semifinal. I could only think that this type of arrogance is the reason the north in my eyes underperformes in world cups. I remember 2015 thinking Argentina, Australia and even South Africa might falter in the quarters but we certainly believed that we could win. However with the exception of the greatest all black team of all time, (also the best team of all time) there was an uncertainty of who would make the semi finals and we approached it as such. Arrogance is always the worst possible approach.

What a fantastic show and thank you to both teams who were so evenly matched. The phase play on both sides was a show of experience and ability and the final score could have gone either way. Not true SA vs NZ wins record until 1995 SA 22 NZ 18 SA was until then the most dominant team in rugby history. From 1995 our country went through sport politics and transformational issues ... A lot of disunity at the fore and it affected team selection & cohesion. Rugby public knew we were seeing much bs for a few decades. We wanted more running game and kept getting this post 95 one dimensional stuff.... (We used to run the ball like crazy pre 95) That is when NZ got the upper hand. By a lot. So .... The last 25 years have been AB's. You must respect the legacy and speak truthfully about it. Well done AB's on a brilliant win vs Ireland. We in SA have huge respect for our opponents NZ and France in particular. And of course Ireland whom we have battled against in last few years We have not shown all our cards and feel we have the beating of the French as good as they are. As a Bok, we tried to warn them but they wouldn’t listen. Despite mouthing the platitudes you could see that they were mentally already in the final in a way that the ABs or Boks have never done and will never do regardless of form or player quality at any given moment. That great ‘15 AB side would have lost their semi against that bang average Bok side if they had the unconscious presumption this Irish team betrayed. That’s how you learn if you are receptive to harsh lessons.
