I have two friends who could not afford to build on their site , they are a hardworking family that have always struggled, the Wicklow co council refused to let them sell their site , only someone within 8km could purchase their site but the council refused some within that distance as they said the buyer was not in need ,, my friends are in their fifty s, killing themselves trying to build a house they cannot afford to build ,, if the council allowed they could sell and buy something somewhere with the money from the site ,, this country sucks when it comes to planing ,, it's actually criminal what they do

6 years ago I met a lovely Irish woman and her little son in a children's park on Bray seafront. It started to rain and they stayed on. They were in bed and breakfast and had to wonder the streets all day. I will never forget that day and I will never forgive Irish politicians.
