Congrats!! I had a fifth wheel and after a few tough disconnects I found that after chocking the wheels and lowering landing gear, releasing the truck's parking brake (if set) gives the truck some wiggle and lets the hitch release easily.

I guess that a nice preowned 45' Newell or Prevost will be next for the channel as a natural step to a new one. I personally see this new trailer as being a major pain in the butt for consistent travels and adventures.

Getting a new rv is sooo exciting. But you have to learn how to work smarter, not harder. We would have loaded up the back end of the truck with the boxes, and drove it over. Fast move, less walking. Of course I’m a 62yo woman who hates moving. 😅 Love you guys videos.

Very exciting guys. Seeing the view revealed with all those windows: wow! It really illustrates to me that when you get a new rig, you not only transform your interior, you’ve transformed your connection to the nature around you. I don’t ever remember seeing any shots of the outside from inside the old rig. It’s an amazing transformation. So happy for you guys. The place is beautiful. Woohoo!

We agree! The windows were a key part of the upgrade. Our travel trailer did have a nice big window at the kitchen dinette , but it was on the driver side. Great views while boondocking, but right at your neighbor in RV parks!

Often to release the pressure on your hitch to make it easy to pull the handle on the hitch place your truck in neutral and let it relax. Then go to park and try to pull the handle. Safe travels and good health

Auto Level - you need to bring the nose of the 5th down below level then the auto level button should work.

You don't need to bring it down first, but it does need to be able to drop down below level. So don't set your legs out too far when you unhitch. If you unhook and then auto-level, the trailer will automatically go back to hitch height when you are ready to rehitch. When ready to rehitch, press the left and right arrow buttons at the same time. The rear jacks will raise, then the front will return to your hitch height (provided you didn't make any adjustments to the height after unhitching).

Congrats! Beautiful home for the family. The space is amazing. We’ve just done the opposite. We’ve gone from a Class A to a 19 ft van - crazy, we know. A recommendation 4 u guys, make sure your leveling jacks are on the highest setting for maximum ground clearance since you guys are avid boondockers. We had ours set that way bcuz we boondock a lot as well. Don’t want to bend a leg or two. 👍😃🍻

So nice to watch you be a "newbie" again. Not sure if you are going to store stuff in the truck box but if not have you just thought about removing the tailgate? Could even build a wall in front of the fifth wheel and some compartments down the sides. Cloud 9-love it. On a different note when you talk to Howard ask him how his top post battery terminal puller shirt is? I watched their live stream last night and he had on a blue lobster shirt and the lobsters looked like battery post pullers. Knew Aaron would understand. Anyway I am so happy for you guys. Awesome guys, I love your guys video, we did this twice within one year, we move from a 5th wheel to a new 38" motorhome and we find out that we didn't like that so we decided that we love the 5th wheel so we bought a 2023 Jayco North Point and wow, I don't want to do that again I'm in my late 60's almost 70's and it wears of people our age. What we did moving from our motorhome to the new 5th wheel I went out to the storage and loaded up as much stuff I could in my long bed pickup and it was a lot, so when we went to pick up our new 5th wheel we had very little stuff to transfer over, now slowly but surely we manage to get everything move over and you know coming from a motorhome there is a lot of storage in the basement. Can't wait when all the moving get done and see some camping and some travel, God bless you guys and stay safe.

To release the tension in the hitch, put the truck in neutral, release the emergency brake, take your fit of the brake. Then emergency brake back on, truck back in park. For the auto-level, use two fingers, side by side. It's almost like there are two buttons there.

For the pin binding - if you backed in, put it in drive a pull forward an inch before you unhook. If you pulled in, reverse for an inch. Yes, don't forget the tailgate! Congrats on the new rig!

Congratulations! A lot of work, but exciting work! I can see having more space will feel so good for you and the dogs. When my new house was being built, I had to live in my 24' Class C as an involuntary "snowbird" with my 2 pugs for 6 months. I think it's 12 sf of floor space and it got old in a hurry! The pugs did fine though.

Watching the "landing" phase of your fifth wheel made me think of the safety necessity of printed checklists for every takeoff and landing of a plane. Maybe a printed or cell phone checklist for "taking off" from a campsite and one for "landing" at a campsite would be a prudent strategy.

I am 63 and semi retired. I`ve been thinking about going into the RV lifestyle. I have been looking at the class C motor homes. so I can tow my SUV behind it. I do see a 5th wheel does have more space than a class C does but the only thing is having to trade my Subaru in for a truck. That is a big step in gas mileage for me. I have been camping with my parents ever since I was in diapers and I love camping and being out doors. I love the camp ground your in. I have been considering talking to KOA campgrounds in ohio and florida to see about working part time to pay for camping spot.

3 minutes into the video and I’m wondering why do didn’t go with a Reese GooseBall hitch system? It’s pretty much identical to a bumper ball mount except the ball is in the truck bed, centered over the axle. Besides being just like a ‘standard’ ball mount, you get full use of your truck bed, every time you unhitch.
