Dear American friends and brothers! I would like to convey this idea to you. If any of the people reading have the ability to influence technological development, communicate with people like Elon Musk and others, then please delve into it. How long can you go to exhibitions and show off robotic dogs? AI's place is in space! Let's launch rockets to Mars and the Moon, populate them with humanoid and other robots with enormous autonomy to build city boundaries, technical solutions, modules for us, future space explorers! Best regards, Ed from Russia.

I definitely respect your opinion, but looking back in history, we see that all technology was expensive and reserved for the well-to-do. Then it got better and cheaper and everyone had it. In Japan, everything is believed to have a soul, even inanimate objects. Here in the US, we unfortunately see robots as a threat to our jobs and livelihoods. The results of these views speak for themselves!
@martuuk89648 ай бұрын
That’s a bit of an orientalist view of Japanese belief. The idea of everything having a soul is specifically an ancient Shinto idea rather than a modern Japanese cultural idea - and most Japanese people are not strict adherents of Shinto dogma. Shinto started as a state religion enforced by the imperial court and its agents, and was designed to propagate the domestic policy interests of the state, in much the same way that the Roman emperor Constantine decided to use Christianity as a state-endorsed religion despite not being Christian himself. Shinto did somewhat take on a life of its own over hundreds of years as every religion does, but some of the more dogmatic beliefs are strange even to the Japanese. In the sense of “everything having a soul” - while that is a belief, it mostly applies to organic life. Tools and weapons aren’t generally believed to acquire a soul until they are very old and very well-used - which is a partial influence on why very old multi-generational family heirlooms, particularly of useful objects, are highly prized in Japanese families. Who knows how Shinto dogma will treat robots years from now. It’s entirely possible the Shinto religion will adopt the position that AGI robots have souls from the very first time they are turned on, while more limited robots are just tools that follow a set algorithmic pattern and will be treated more like old tools are now. Because AGI (which we haven’t quite yet achieved) is supposed to be able to reprogram itself with new algorithms, it could more accurately be labeled as having a sense of self or soul.

Maybe the two legged robot without the straps to human user is designed to help pick up and lift things up off the ground. They could use different type of arm attachments. Then it would need to be able to bend over to pick them up or help lift them and set them back down when assisting the user. 🤷🏻♂️ or maybe to carry medical equipment needed to support a patient in hospital during movement exercises and then any hoses or wires would stay close and wouldn’t have to use a cart pushed behind patient.

The verdict as of late 2023: 1.None of the robots shown can be life changing in the real world. I mean in unstructured environments and be profitable at the same time. I mean, even if we drop the unprofitable part, they are still subpar. 2.Nothing that I have seen is comparable to Boston Dynamics, and almost certainly not close to Agility Robotics and ANYbotics. 3.LLMs have yet to make an impact on robotics. Yes, I know that Boston Dynamics has integrated an LLM into one of their robots. But their integration was like putting a cucumber on a cake. Feel the value? But this is the best we've got. 4.Unintuetively, the best PRACTICAL robots we have on this planet are the ones working in Amazon's warehouses. They make the money.

Society is falling apart, you're so brainwashed from technology you'll probably never figure it out, every single piece so far has been used against us, EVERY TIME it's sold as convenience but if you could just think for yourself every thing is super inconvenient now!
