Absolutely my favourite routine of all time... I can't explain what she HAD and no-one today has...or, not at her level.

she is light as air... she is suspended mid-air in her leaps, which is so much more impressive than the rest of the good jumpers (bessonova, mamun), who just leap high and extend as much as possible. Tchachina on the other seems to float above the carpet.

I still don't get how did she come in 2nd place ! Yes she had a mistake in her ribbon routine, but all of her routines overall seemed much much harder and better executed than Kabaevas ! I have a feeling the judges just let kabaeva win her go,d Olympic medal since she messed up in 2000 Olympics ! But it's not fair for Irina she was THE REAL OLYMPIC CHAMPION IN MY EYES FOR 2004 Olympics !

In fairness, Kabaeva was the rightfull champion in 2000, but she did mess up. I agree, Tchachina was a much better gymnast than Kabaeva, but sometimes you need a bit of luck. Same thing happened in 2016.

@@confusedgerbil i wouldn't compair 2004 with 2016 . kabaeva was heavy favored and oversocored in her routines(that ribbon was horrible), kot of people feel that had not kaabeva not been oversocored so muhc,Tchacina even with the mistake could have won. 2016 was sincerly an unlucky moment ,and mamun at the same time did her best comeption in her life ,the feeling was different

@@rhythmicmusicswap4173 IWell, I guess your opinion was not shared by expert and international judges. Also, Tschachina had a huge error with ribon, her ribon alse went out of bounds towards the end of routine and she was penalized for ending the clubs routine out of time. Kabaeva had way more difficulties and no major mistakes in the final. Because somebody has beuatiful angel face, long legs and elegance is not enough to be a Olympic gold medalist, especially with many mistakes in the final.
