Good afternoon I was so pleased to see this as I also like the die - but here in UK tricky to get hold of... the little prongs are too little and do not stay holding he iris together. I will persevere but might have to make some tweaks if possible. thanks Lori brilliant idea xx

Sorry if you've already answered this question but what kind of glue are you using and where can I get that great glue bottle for precise gluing? Thanks!

Hi Cindy, I work for Lori. Lori uses Scotch Quick Dry glue. The glue and the bottle can be found on Lori's favorite crafting products page here: www.amazon.com/shop/loriwhitlock

What sized glue dots did you use? I didn’t know they had ones so tiny.

Love the design! Love Lori Whitlock designs! But having a bit of trouble with the four prong part. Do all the mechanism pieces get "wrapped"? or just the "Q" piece?

Im sad, These little tabs didn't work after I made this; they bent. I hope my card holds up for the receiver. I like the concept and found a much sturdier way of doing this, I will change the way I make this from now on.

Thanks, Made the dog house one today. However those little clips are so tiny and this card only worked a few times. Will try again. Question, should I print the puppy instead. Same with the bird house. Should I print the bird inside the house?

I have tried 3 times to make one of these cards. Its great until I get to the 4 prong thing...I can't get this right. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong but I don't know what.....HELP

SAME HERE SYLVIA VICARI! i DON'T KNOW WHAT IS MEANT BY PUT THE PRONG UNDER "ONE LAYER?" One layer of the sausage pieces? or under ALL the sausage pieces? Hope someone can help please. Bent the 1st prongs so trying again. Maybe my glue dots are too large. Had to cut mediums in half? Hum....
@cejjresale4 жыл бұрын
I tried and tried and tried and no matter where I put those little prongs it didn't work. I put it on to the q piece. It worked 3 times and then the little prongs bent and that was the end of that. I give up

Are you using glue dots? I tried to use just regular glue and it didn’t work. I used 3/8” glue dots and then tucked the prong under just the first layer of the sausage looking things.

The file downloaded from the Silhoutette Design Store includes stabilizing tabs that are not mentioned in this video. Do you just glue these down to the base at the marked spots? I take it that the curved edge of the tab lines up with the curved edge of the open circle in the middle of the card. How close should the tabs be placed to the circle?

if the glue dots are a little too big will the shutter still move. mine wont move
@loriwhitlock4 жыл бұрын
if you use glue dots they have to be the mini ones .125". You can also use brads. Watch my newest Iris Shutter Card - Brad Method video.

The white paper is about 100# cover. The other pieces are 65-80#. However, some of the cards I made completely with 65-80#

I found it is much easier to attach the four prongs if you close the iris and align the front and back, then tuck the prongs under the round tab mechanism. The way Lori does it did not work for me. Thanks for your cards Lori, very inspiring.
@cejjresale4 жыл бұрын
OK..What did you do cuz I can't get this to work more than 3 times before the little tab things give out
@shasblew4 жыл бұрын
@@cejjresale I ended up making my own, I wasn't happy with the way the little tabs come up when you close the iris. Added three tabs that are on the base section and you fold then to the front of the mechanism and glue. Much easier and smoother operating!

Susan, did you watch the new video I put out a few days ago? It's my newest video on my channel and I demonstrate a new assembly method with new clips that go on the outer edges of the "Q" to stabilize it. Go download the newest file from either my shop or Silhoeutte. If you bought it at my shop just go to COMPLETED ORDERS and re-download the file. If from Silhouette, delete the file from you library and go re-download it. The new file will be available with the new clips.
