Irish Jig and Reel: Leitrim Jig / The Otter's Den, on Multidrone Uilleann Pipes

This set of tunes is played along four drone combinations. In Leitrim Jig, an eb group in the first part in e dorian is followed by the Gd' group in the second part being in G, changed by Kannmacher's special drone lever. For the following first part of The Otter's Den, in b minor, the e drone is slided to b beforehand during the preceding tune (the drone slide then covers its e hole by being slided upwards to a pre-tuned rest.). So, Bb accompanies this part, and, for the second part of the tune, in D major, the tone ring of the bass is closed beforehand to give D, for having the classical Dd' sound. Admittedly, this is an extreme arrangement, done here for demonstration, and it takes a lot of practice until the handling of the drones may be done without being distracted too much from chanter playing.

I only know of two titles: The Otter`s Den, and The Waterdog`s Hole. Otter`s Holt would be third. Could not find "holt" in the dictionary.

Poll an Mhadra Uisce (The Otter's Holt) really should be the only titles haha but I know trad folk are fairly liberal with tune names. That's the name the composer put on it haha 😊 A holt is just the name given to a otters nest essentially, dunno if it's a proper term or just west clare slang 😂
